Greetings, Marie! I had a cat that started going for my jugular, which might count as "evil cat." I took him to a distant shelter because it had a reputation for placing difficult animals. They put him right down. Not suggesting you do the same, but life is too short for evil family members. I'd like to invite you to a group where we talk about anything on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D

I'm working on it, yeah. I've got one book about half written and another ... maybe a quarter of the way written, but it's hard to tell, since it's in chunks, rather than a continuous manuscript. I've written a scene here and a scene there, but I haven't linked them at all.

I haven't been working on the novels as much lately, either. I've been focusing more on the standup comedy ... which is actually somewhat like writing short stories, the way I do it. I don't write individual jokes, but cohesive, 5 to 10 minute segments, many of which are story-based. I'm just working on memorizing the damned material, now.

Right there with you, on the time constraints. For me, it's work and random distractions. For you, there's school, and I imagine worrying about college coming up, huh? If you're a junior or senior, that's got to be looming a bit.

With the sitting thing, I find it helps to drag my laptop out somewhere in public. For me, it's more about minimizing distractions, but you may find that the additional stimulus of the people around you, say at a B&N cafe or coffee shop or something, fills your fidget requirement.

Also, you'd be surprised how much even personal poetry can resonate with other people. There are a lot of strong themes within personal experience, which other people will have been through. The details differ, but there are similar underliers.

Welcome to this friendly community of freethinkers who see that god is fiction and religion is nothing but a fraud used to control vulnerable people, often starting with defenceless children.
