Hi Muoma, I find it very interesting how people can go thru their lives not questioning what they believe. Myself for example, I was a devout United Methodist for 54 years. I didn't believe everything that i was supposed to believe, but I did believe in the god of the bible. I raised my family to be Christian. I finally realized none of it was true when I was doing research on another belief system. I thought how silly it was what they believed. I wondered why they believed what they did. I realized they were indoctrinated. At that moment I realized I had been indoctrinated also, and that is why I believed. It wasn't just that one thing that turned my thinking around, but that was the straw that broke the camels back.Any way I'm glad I figured it out.
I did find some fellow Atheist in a near by town that I'm meeting with.
I am so happy to be able to to talk to people who do not have imaginary friends!
I am in hopes of finding someone on Atheist Nexus in my local area. I would like to start a local organization. Statistically speaking there should be a few nonbelievers even in this area.
I would just like to provide a safe place for people to be able to socialize without having to be ridiculed, or preached to.
Hi Muoma. Thank you for friending me. I liked your profile. It is good to talk to people who have found their way out of religion. I can not talk to my family members very much about my atheism because almost everyone of them are believers. I am trying to find more atheist in the town that I live in. I live in a very religious town. Also most people in this area are not big on science. Have a nice day!
