Nick in Tacoma commented on Anthony Moss's blog post Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao were all atheists, and look what they did!
"Collectivism doesn't lead surely to genocide. Neither does Atheism, Communism Socialism, Democracy or any of the major ideologies that affect the world we live in. What does always lead us to perdition is believing the end justifies the means.…"

Nick in Tacoma replied to RogAgainst's discussion Atheists and PZ's blog get stabbed in this LA times article in the group Pharyngula
"I don't know about the rest of you, but I keep looking for the theist that wants to have a serious metaphysical or epistemological argument about god's existence, or that would like to discuss the serious arguments that theologians have…"

Nick in Tacoma replied to Rooker's discussion Need help with Pascal's Wager and the concept of Hell
"Rooker, One of the standard answers to Pascal's Wager is that it assumes on the part of the questioner a specific notion of god. So the reply is: What would you say to a Hindu that asked you the same kind of question? Along the same lines:…"

Nick in Tacoma replied to Danny's discussion Religious Debate Online, Need Some Help

Nick in Tacoma replied to mthoreau's discussion God of the Gaps
"My response to this kind of argument is that an impersonal prime mover is irrelevant and has nothing to say to us. Funny that this kind of argument so often comes from someone that wants to eventually circle around to the bible."

Welcome to Atheist Nexus and its thousands of good friends.

Do join good groups like the busy discussion group "ORIGINS" (Origins: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion..... ).

I have been running a long discussion there about being "Proud to be Atheist" as we all should be, seeing that we hold the intellectual high ground over unreasoning religionists.
