Only if the students aren't mature enough to grasp the rest of the story. It's a tragedy for a reason - a great story that doesn't actually HAVE a happy ending. Two bitter, nasty families with a grudge match get exactly nothing. They lose everything over petty pride and stubbornness - and don't really even realize it. I get the suspicion that no one got any wiser, that people are still stupid and nothing's really gotten any better. Tragedy indeed.

In a generation dominated by the Twilight books vomit, I say classical literature has an even greater role to play.
