I don't think I answered your question properly, which I will not do - in English :-)
I spent 7 months in Flores learning a regional language (B. Wyrana) via an imperfectly learned B. Indonesia. Only the priest and the "English" teacher (he taught "Indish", not English) spoke any English. It was a fast learning curve.
I was studying how to teach English as a Second/Foreign Language at the time, by correspondance. It was hard work. Because I was resident in a foreign country I learned things that no text book can teach.
Aka kabah? I used to speak your language but it has been nearly twenty years since I lived in Flores and I am rather rusty now. It would probably return quickly if you'd like to try me. Otherwise, I speak a little English :-)
