"Go, Rhonda. Do what excites you. I took eight years to get a four-year degree, trying two major fields before I found one I liked enough to make it a career. The GI Bill and a night shift job helped me pay for my degree and I retired from that work.…"

A new semester

A new semester starts for me next week. I am now a sophomore. More nutrition classes, more science. Also, I am taking math and Italian, so it is going to be pretty busy.  And, I am starting in work study this semester. I have worked part time and gone to school before, in culinary school. I think I can handle this.I am glad I am half done with this associates, but am now trying to decide if I want to go on for my bachelors, and whether to try continuing in nutrition, or change to public health,…See More

How not to write a persuasive speech

I am supposed to give a persuasive speech for my oral communications class, and it is going to be about how expanding your experiences can improve your ability to decide on a major for college. It sounded like a good topic, and I think the people in my class could benefit from it,as we are all students, and I am pretty sure some of us haven't decided. I know that experience should help someone know what they are interested in. However, I have found, it really clouded up the decision making…See More

A new school year.

Posted on August 13, 2017 at 4:10pm 3 Comments

So, this year is a little more than half over. And, I decided it is time for a change.

The weight loss went well, and is still working out for me. Haven't gained any weight back, and have done things to make me healthier. Also, dropped a few additional pounds in the mean time.

I decided it was time for me to go back to school. I will be studying nutrition science. It sounds interesting to me. The healthier lifestyle made me decide this was a good career goal, so that's what I…

We are heading into the end of another calendar year. This is an interesting time for me each year. My birthday is in December, so I tend to do a personal inventory sometime in November or December. I find it usually depresses me, so I try not to stay on that for too long.

This year, from the physical standpoint, I have done well. I have continued with the walking and watching portions that I eat, and have managed to lose about 113 pounds since late January. Still a work in progress,…

Welcome, Rhonda! Glad you could join us. :D

You might be interested in Nexus Book Club, Food or The Knife & Fork.

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.
