A new school year.

Posted on August 13, 2017 at 4:10pm 4 Comments

So, this year is a little more than half over. And, I decided it is time for a change.

The weight loss went well, and is still working out for me. Haven't gained any weight back, and have done things to make me healthier. Also, dropped a few additional pounds in the mean time.

I decided it was time for me to go back to school. I will be studying nutrition science. It sounds interesting to me. The healthier lifestyle made me decide this was a good career goal, so that's what I…

Updates and opinions of mine.

We are heading into the end of another calendar year. This is an interesting time for me each year. My birthday is in December, so I tend to do a personal inventory sometime in November or December. I find it usually depresses me, so I try not to stay on that for too long.

This year, from the physical standpoint, I have done well. I have continued with the walking and watching portions that I eat, and have managed to lose about 113 pounds since late January. Still a work in progress,…

My view of news

Posted on January 4, 2016 at 11:03pm 5 Comments

When I was younger, I wanted to be a reporter. Originally, I wanted to be a sportswriter, but I didn't follow through with the education I would have needed. I think that means it was just a daydream on my part, because I was looking for an excuse to go watch a lot of baseball games, and that might be why I didn't follow through.

But, I also thought about becoming a reporter because I thought the work done by journalists was important. Getting messages through to people mattered.…

What to do with the rest of your life

My daughter graduated from college. It started me thinking about what it was like when I graduated at different levels in my life.

When I graduated from high school, I was the first one in my family, in my generation, to do so. Everyone seemed proud. However, it wasn't that big a deal, really. My mother, my older sister and my brother had all taken and passed their GED tests, so I didn't feel it was that major. I remember feeling uncertain about what I was going to do next. I was…

Welcome, Rhonda! Glad you could join us. :D

You might be interested in Nexus Book Club, Food or The Knife & Fork.

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.
