Rhonda Floyd commented on Pam's group Medical Atheists
"Dialysis tech. in TX, buckle of the bible belt. I'm not so good at holding my tongue. We had a patient who was cramping horribly due to high fluid gain, she kept yelling, "Help me God". I told her she would be better off calling a new…"

Rhonda Floyd commented on Earther's blog post Atheist Today
"A patient of mine found out that I was an atheist. She started telling me how wrong I was for not believing in god. She started telling me how god was so wonderful and I needed to let him in my heart and in my mind. When I asked her if she liked…"

"A universl motto, probably not. I fear looking like a fundamentalist. I would however, like to see some tolerance towards athiests. We are seen in a very negative light. For some reason people in my region seem to relate atheism with satanism. If I…"

We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.

Always a non theist

I cannot remember a time that I didn't question the existence of god. I was lucky enough to grow up in a home where religion was not a highly regarded. My mum and dad said they believed, but that was pretty much it. I was allowed to question religion and be heard.

The more I read, the more I realized there was no truth it it. I have read almost all of the so-called holy books of the world. I have found them all to be contraditicting and condescending. The major theme throughout them all is : Don't think for yourself, god will think for you. This does not sit well with me.

Just as I came to know at an early age (10) that eating and killing animals was not ethical; I came to realize religion was just as unethical.

That's a fine introductory piece. Welcome to this friendly meeting place with its thousands of freethinkers who, like you, recognise how religions deceive and control vulnerable people beginning with innocent children.
