The founding fathers were influenced by the enlightenment, they were very critical of religion as they saw how it had ruined the countries in Europe when it was fused with government. It created…Continue

King John of England (Richards brother)

King John was apparently the first atheistic King of England. He was violently against the Christian religion. He read religious literature so that he would have ammunition for mocking it. He loved…Continue

You're my first friend request on Nexus, and after reading your profile, I'm so honoured! Thank you. We've read many of the same books, but I can certainly learn from your reading list. I'm Canadian, which may be why I couldn't possibly agree more with your political views. (Fist pump, Richard. Wahoo!) I love your definition of atheism. You're a pretty cool guy ;-)

Love the sonic boom picture. I'm sad I'll never get to go on Concord. Always one of my ambitions. I wanted to know if you could hear the boom from on board. I always looked out the window, or just up, if it was going over London. The engine sound was completely different and it would be coming in to land. Looked so beautiful.

The Jumbo jet was developed by the US at the same time, sold a heap round the world, Concord didn't.  As someone commented, "The world wanted a bus, we gave them a Batmobile".
