Hello Rida,  I hope you find some things you are interested in on this web site.  It seems to be a fast growing community of many interests, and interesting people.

Oh, jeeze.  Being from a Muslim family must be pretty rough.  Are your parents at least the very liberal sort?

I'm from a family of fairly liberal Catholics, even if they were the sort who went to mass regularly.  I was stuck going to mass, every single week, along with Catechism classes, but that was pretty much it.

Has the Muslim community, here in America, at least completely abandoned the thing about killing apostates, or do you still get some of that, in the scarier pockets?

Christians, of course, have the same sort of thing in their holy book, but they stopped paying attention to it centuries ago.  A few sects, like the Jehovah's Witnesses and Amish, do shunning of anyone who leaves the sect or who doesn't follow the rules sufficiently, but that's as far as it goes, institutionally speaking.

Of course there are individual Christian families who are into all sorts of insane stuff and would do almost anything to someone who commits apostasy.
