Retired lawyer, age 69. One of four children of a Methodist minister. My father did not believe in Hell or a God who would create such a thing. I minored in Religion and Philosophy as an undergraduate, and have kept on reading and discussing over the years.I have given up on liberal Churches (such as the Unitarians), because they are "True Believers" in political causes, as substitute for the Christianity which they abandoned. Also, they have little interest in the what and why of religion in the first place; a question that has occupied me all my life. It's the elephant in the room.
I have been called an unbeliever and an operationalist. Sounds about right to me!
