A religion old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the universe as revealed by modern science, might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by the conventional faiths. Sooner or later, such a religion will emerge.See More
This group will do more than just pick apart biblical errors and contradictions. Let's closely examine the Bible and Qur'an. Nothing is sacred; every prophecy, proverb, and parable deserves examination and critique.
There are many environmentalists here on AN, none who have run foul of Admin. Brother Richard is a personal friend of mine, and I am offended at your unreasonable assumptions about him. I have told you that your friend has a right to appeal their ban, and I know that will be taken seriously. However, I must repeat that nobody is banned lightly from this site and if your friend was banned, it was because the admin thought there was good reason. If you are not happy about that, I'm sorry. I know I have had several messages from members who are not happy about your friend's promotion of their webpage on Atheist Nexus. I found it very difficult to decipher anything from the website, it is clumsy written and unprofessionally laid out. The best I can work out is that it involves some kind of pyramid scheme involving revenue from advertising. The warning about pyramid schemes on the site makes it seem even more dodgy. Regardless of this, this is not an environmental site, nor does it offer free advertising for money making ventures. If SNF wishes to advertise and recruit members on this site, perhaps he should offer to pay AN for the privilege.
Sera, I have deleted your comment in the Aussie Kiwi thread. The group is not for bitching about people who've been banned. I did not ban your friend, nor did I have any part in it. But I do know that the administrators of this site ban very few people. I expect the ban is because SNF was using this site to promote his own non-atheist site. You are very welcome to continue as a member of AN and of our Aussie Kiwi group, and SNF has a right to appeal his ban. But, if you persist in posting about this issue and disrupting the morale of the site, I will report you and you will find yourself banned also. If you are here, in good faith, as an atheist and plan to join in conversations about atheism, then you will, of course, continue to be a welcomed and valuable member of AN.
