Have you read about Rational Optimism from Matt Ridley?

Posted on June 25, 2012 at 1:13pm 1 Comment

My summer reading began with yard sale book by Matt Ridley called, "Genome"...and it was excellent! That lead me to do some intenet searching and I found him talking on several sites about Rational Optimism.  He is well worth looking into and fun to listen to...Life is not as bad as Fox makes it sound!

Have you seen the movie, "Atlas Shrugged: Part 1" yet?

Posted on June 25, 2012 at 12:40pm 3 Comments

I finally got the Netflix movie, "Atlas Shrugged: Part 1" and watched it this weekend. Both hubby and I got tears in our eyes from the subject matter and the ideas of Ayn Rand's Objectivism.  It stayed very close to the book, but it will come out in 3 parts with the next one due out in October.  A pain full wait is ahead of us and anyone else who loves this story.  Well worth seeing for all ages and mind sets. We loved it!…

The worst album covers ever created

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 10:13am 27 Comments

I do not usually share dumb Facebook stuff, but this just killed me...Some of the worst music album covers that you will ever see and most of them are religious in nature. Try to brace yourself first...these are bad!

I just finished reading, "God, No!" by Penn Jillette

Posted on March 16, 2012 at 7:22pm 0 Comments

Greetings, I just finished reading, "God, No! Signs You May Already Be an Atheist and Other Magical Tales." It was a well written and rollicking ride by famous magician, Penn Jillette.

Penn takes you through his life stories and the 10 commandments of his life. It made me jealous that I was not a fly on the wall for most of it...but he does a great job of making you believe that you could have been there. He has made sure that Christmas and flying in an airplane will never be the same…

Hi Suzi, I immediately recognised your piece "The Jester".  I live in Australia but was travelling through Minnesota a few years ago and was impressed at the way the City of Bemidji had activated the city centre using public art and streetscaping.  I use a photo of "The Jester" in presentations I give here in Australia on the value of public art in placemaking for towns and cities.

Thanks for the link. It was all interesting. You've just shared a lot about yourself. If the constellation of  traits matches your self-perception, I don't see that Meyers Briggs being out of favor makes any difference.

Hi Suzi and welcome to this world of rationality, truth and peace. Common sense helped by science leads to freethinking wisdom as you have found out.
We invite you to make good friends by joining the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Gods, Atheism, Evolution, Darwin..." with 650 discussion topics and 3300 members.

Welcome, Suzi! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also want to look at Geek and Nerd Haven, A TRICK OF THE EYE, Atheist Artists and Atheists who are Artists.

My husband, formerly a psychologist, says Myers Briggs is out of favor now. He doesn't respect it.
