About Me:
Teresa is a writer, poet, an advocate for the rights of children and a myth buster by trade. Her recently released book is called Have We Been Screwed? Trading Freedom for Fairy Tales. It can be found on Amazon along with the rest of her books. Teresa was raised in a religious cult and once freed from the indoctrination of her youth went on to examine the vast number of cultural expectations within societies at large. The Business of Importing Nuns and Priests

Posted on September 18, 2017 at 7:30am 9 Comments

Most countries import goods from all over the world. We love exotic fruits that are out of season. We drive foreign cars that continually create competition for manufacturers. We wear clothing that was made by people from the other side of the planet. But did you know that nuns and priests are being imported as well?

Shocking, isn't it?

Last winter when I was in…

Charlatans and Gullibles

Charlatans are not a new phenomenon.

They've been around ever since humans discovered how easy it is to trick someone else into meeting their needs —  be it giving them money, service or adoration. Although scamming folks is not solely the domain of the religious nor do only the superstitious succumb to such slick dicks, the ordained charlatan is a particularly loathsome critter.…

Only In America?

If you've never been to Spain and you like to travel, put it on your bucket list.

I've been returning to Spain for twelve years, often staying for my 90-day limit on my passport. There are loads of reasons why I fell in love with Spain, but one that I often fail to remember is that  like much of Europe, Spain is far more secular than the US. At times I wonder who or what (and especially WHERE!) my muse is.  I try to do a blog a month, but I missed August, mostly owing to a lack of motivation, yet I managed TWO this month, and it ain't over yet!

I do enjoy writing, quite a bit, in fact.  It's just that sometimes getting the words out can be a pain in the patoot.

Hey, Teresa!

At the risk of tooting my own horn, you might click on "PREVIOUS POST" once or twice.  I flatter myself to think that, when my muse DOES deign to visit, she does okay by me.

Welcome,  Teresa! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that’s on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically. Writing to Congress is a group to share ideas so it's easy to write or call legislators.

After you’ve searched for topics of interest in “Groups” above and in the “Forums”, don’t forget to look at Latest Activity, found along the right margin of the page .
