Calling all freelance writers

Posted on November 12, 2009 at 9:14am 0 Comments

In case you haven't heard by now, the staff is looking to add more writers to its site.

If you are a writer and are interested in becoming a freelance writer with Examiner, they are now looking for writers to write on a national level as well as on the local level. They have a great number of topics you can choose from (doesn't have to be atheism). Also, if you feel you want to write about somethig that isn't listed, you can suggest a new topic (that's how I got the… Continue

Faith healing proponent parents sentenced for death of daughter

Posted on October 7, 2009 at 7:55am 9 Comments

Dale and Leilani Neumann of Wausau, Wisconsin could have saved their daughter. But they chose to rely on God rather than take their daughter to the doctor. Because they imposed their religious beliefs on their 11-year-old daughter, the young girl died. Yes, the parents have a right to believe as they like, but what about the rights of their daughter? Didn't she have a right to live?

The couple was sentenced yesterday for their part in their daughter's death. They received a sentence… Continue

Atheists victorious - Judge orders 'Almighty God' in Kentucky unconstitutional

When American Atheists (AA) realized that the Kentucky office of Homeland Security had '"God" in its law, it sprang to action. Along with 10 other plaintiffs, AA filed suit to get the reference to God removed from the law.

According to AA, the "2006 law... blatantly mixes church and state, in defiance of the US Constitution." The law they speak of requires that the executive director of Kentucky's Homeland Security shall "[p]ublicize the findings of the General Assembly stressing the… Continue

New company to rescue left-behind pets after the Rapture

Posted on August 27, 2009 at 4:24pm 9 Comments

A new company has started up - a company that will rescue and care for pets once their owners are Raptured away. Christians, take note - this is no joke. Just as it says on the official Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, USA Web site, this is serious.

Have you ever wondered who will care for your pets once you are joined with your maker in Heaven? Well, now you can put your mind at ease. For a small fee, you can rest easy knowing that the fine folks at Eternal Earth-Bound Pets will rescue and… Continue

Greetings, Trina! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi Trina,

I did hit that button, but it kept coming back telling me I was not signed in. So then I just tried the Reply and got the same message and after signing in again about 3 times it worked. Maybe it's my computer (or the person operating it) Look forward to meeting you.
