I sat down after work, in-front of my computer on the designated date, at the designated site to watch the third installment in Peter Joseph's Zeitgeist film series. I was satified with the knowledge…Continue

"CFI-Harlem/Harlem Humanists will be gathering on Sunday February 26th to celebrate Day of Solidarity for Black Non-believers. This is a time to get together and enjoy bright minds and warm personalities. There's a noble story of freethought from within the African American and Pan-African tradition. This is a chance to connect with this tradition and each other. We'll begin at 1pm. The place is 583 Riverside Dr. in the "Brick Room". It's free. Just e-mail (harlem@centerforinquiry.net) or call (646-820-CFIH) for all the details." RSVP, if you can.

See you there.

I saw your Zeitgeist comment on Michelle's page. The films appear to present a lot of information on the origins of religion. The problem is that it doesn't back any of it's claims with reliable information and makes lots of speculations. I haven't seen any legitimate sources from someone working in Egyptology that claims that Horus had twelve disciples, rose on the third day, or was hung on a cross. In all likely hood. Such claims were made from the OT ( not in the sense of prophecy). With the twelve tribes of Judea and constant use of three days or third day ( read Spong, Resurrection Myth or reality).
it's possible that the writers of the OT were using pagan myths, but the idea that Christianity is a complete copy and past religion is somewhat unlikely to me. As for the other claims in the movie. I suggest http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4196
