We are wasting our time if we can't help these gay teens.

Posted on June 22, 2011 at 11:15pm 9 Comments

Often when I reflect upon my day, I am amazed how much of my time is wasted going through hate mail. No, I'm not talking about those "my god loves you and enjoy the fires of Hell" letters I get from those wacky and kooky theists. I'm speaking of the emails I get from other atheists. Yeah, I actually get more from our team.

"There is no such thing as a new atheist!"

Weekly Rant: Frank Schaeffer and New Atheist Fundamentalists

Posted on November 5, 2009 at 12:27pm 4 Comments

As far as the religious go, you could say that Frank Schaeffer is one of the good guys. He is the son of one of the first televangelists, Francis Schaeffer, and in his book, Crazy for God, he did a great job explaining how he helped found the Religious Right, and why he now regretted it.

When should nontheists complain?

Posted on November 3, 2009 at 4:30pm 7 Comments

It is no secret that we nontheists are continually bombarded with religious references. Most of the time, we simply smile and ignore them, knowing that our fellow primates mean us no harm. And when we do complain, no matter how polite and courteous we may be, it is always taken the wrong way. So, when should we speak up?

My friend Margaret Downey wrote this letter to American Airlines concerning her recent trip her to Hawaii:… Continue

Happy first anniversary to “the three godlessteers,” Lamar, Eli, and Joe. Thanks guys for giving us a great year of podcasting. May you all be in Heaven ten minutes before the Devil knows your dead.

If you don’t yet listen to the Chariots of Iron podcast, you are missing out. Below is the info for episode that kicks off their second season. Their guest is PZ Myers, and if that is not reason enough to listen, you get to hear Joe say, “If the toupee had been invented like 3000 years… Continue

I'm getting discouraged, and participating less. Yesterday a discussion disappeared when I tried to post it. Today an attempted Forum reply just spins its wheels instead of being added.

I know you have a lot to do and only have 24 hours/day, but I think the "stop following" part of emails is annoying enough to deserve some attention.  It is too easy to accidently click on.

Hi Richard,

I will mention my activity on Atheist Nexus at the PA Athesit/ Humanist convention this month. I also listed the blog on the official website for the convention here: http://atheistpa.org/speakers-2014/

I like Atheist Nexus a lot, and I plan on continuing to be active.

Thanks, and have a great day.
