Inspired atheists convergence

Greetings and salutations to all my readers,

I propose  that on shorttermissues  as atheists we're very challenged indeed on getting the american public out of their lemmingrun towards certain doom . What is to stop them ? Leadership is meek  and badly underfunded  . Most certainly timelines can be drawn with futureanticipated milestones towards global citizenship soon!

Our next focus - in my (humble) opinion- should be the Energycrisis . With solar and wind /…

At Hang With Friends the Introduce Yourself discussion asks about food and drink. You'd be surprised how much you can tell about people just by how they answer. It would be a way to pre-screen people, in addition to what's in their profile. Also, I've learned a lot of in depth stuff from answers to the "What's your meaning of life?" discussion.

Greetings, andrew! I see you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Feb. We have a new group where you might feel more at home. Please consider joining Hang With Friends  , where we can share our stories and laugh, and discuss anything on our minds.

Hi Andrew,

I don't know if they have video here or not ... I can type quick, so it doesn't bother me and also although I have huge numbers of cameras, I haven't yet attached any as a web cam... LOL...

For me a world view is one thing (religions, atheist etc); relationship skills is another.
Relationships can be complex as everyone has their own values around them.
Personally I don’t think many people fall in love and then stay that way for ever with out fall outs and effort or break ups.
It is possible to be in a relationship with someone who has totally different world view you yourself. It all depends on if you can show mutual respect for each others perspectives. A good book for conflict resolution in an ultimate sense is Marshall B Rosenberg’s “Nonviolent Communication”. The great thing about that book is that it crosses gender, beliefs and boarders and can appeal to all people no matter what their sex, religion or not or country of residents. It asks everyone to talk about their needs, rather than blame, get angry, criticise, judge or otherwise coerce someone. If everyone can stick to talking about their needs – eg. I need space, I need love, I need affection, I need respect, I need autonomy and so… everyone is more likely to work things out – than if everyone is using alienating communication such as criticism, judgement, blame or punishment.
Naturalism is also a great world view – so atheistic, and based in the natural world – and with the addition of understanding that we don’t have contra-causal free will. You can find them at – there are some great articles there that may assist you in dealing with relationships…

Hi Andrew, I saw your post on Sunshines page... about being married to someone who believes in God... I too am married to one who belives in God.... not so bad...  he seems to accept my believes and can live with them, as his beliefs in God don't inpinge on my being who I am....  he doesn't attend a temple or church, just has a belief in God - a supreme being who is our shared father, and who we can be equal too when our souls leave our bodies....  he doesn't feel the need to indoctinate our kids....  and is a loving father.... so I can't see harm in his belifes, although I do sometimes wonder what they do for him???  Alice :)

Hi Andrew, and welcome to this wonderful world of Internet atheism----a haven from the superstitious beliefs and fictional god of the masses.

We invite you to make good friends by joining the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its 400 discussion topics and 2300+ members.
