My Story On How I Left Islam

Why I left Islam       I am from Lebanon, I was born and raised as Muslim, as a young boy my father started taking me to our local mosque and taught me how to pray to Allah, here when the indoctrination started. My parents along with the Imam, told me many things, that just did not add up, that women who show skin are condemned to hell, I asked myself as a 5-year-old “These women are not harming anyone, then why would Allah punish them?” I also asked my parents: “Who created God?” They replied:…See More

How I became an atheist. ( From an ex-muslims perspective)

Posted on July 13, 2013 at 2:45am 4 Comments

To start off as a child I was born and raised in muslim house hold , I believed it and never questioned it . I remember as a toddler that my dad used to take me to the masjid with him and he taught me how to pray to allah. I also used to see my mom wearing her veil and reading the koran especially during Friday and ramadan. Although my mom doesn't like to wear the hijab she wears tank tops and tight jeans and also my dad he doesn't want my mom to wear the hijab. But her family are devout…

The historicity of Islam and Muhammad.

Ibn warraq says that the historicity of Muhammad is doubtful :

  • Although the unreliability of the Arabic literary sources has been known for a century, only recently have scholars begun to explore its full implications, thanks largely to the ground-breaking work of the American scholar John Wansbrough.…

Hello Ibrahim...

I started a group for ex-muslims and people who question faith in NYC called Muslimish.

http://www.meetup.com/Muslim-ish/

I am looking for people from muslim background to start new groups in other cities in western countries. I know of one other group in London but that’s pretty much it.

Let me know if you if you know someone from a muslim background who would be interested in stating such a group, we have a system in NY that works well and I think it can be copied in other places.

Thanks,

Ibrahim 2

Welcome, Ibrahim! Glad you could join us. :D It's good to see you've joined several groups.

Please also  consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.
