"Welcome, Dora.  Yes, being a non-theist among Christians and Catholics can be very lonely.  You can find like-minded friends here.  Join some groups of interest to you."

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

You might also like Young Atheist Women, Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists and Atheist Singles.

As of resident of York, PA you might also like Eco-Logical, where we discuss fracking as well as the extreme weather affecting our country.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  If you're not in a city of at least a couple hundred thousand, it's hard to get a local group together with enough regular people to have a decent social group.  Once you get a bunch of atheists in one place, you have to find enough people in that group who enjoy doing the same sort of things as you.

Have you checked meetup.com for any local activity in your area?  The groups in lots of smaller cities make use of that.
