Heh, I know what you mean about the Bible Belt. And you're not in one of the big cities in the Bible Belt, even, huh? I guess Rolla technically qualifies as a college town, but that doesn't look like one of those ultra-liberal college towns that are an oasis in a field of red.
I'm in the Bible Belt, but I'm in a very highly-educated urban-cluster of around a million or so. That makes a huge difference. This place isn't college-town liberal, but there are three MAJOR universities within about a 15 mile radius, plus a whole lot of business that makes use of a lot of Ph.D.'s, with Research Triangle Park stuck in the middle of the urban cluster. It only starts feeling like the Bible Belt if you wander about 10 or 15 miles outside of the city limits.
