I am actually British, but you'd have to be a bit naive to not care about the American presidency. An atheist president would really be a step forward, and it's ironic because the majority of the founding fathers were deists, not Christians.
Well, my name's Tabitha and I'm a teen girl from Ohio~ most people call me Tab. ^^ I'm a pretty laid back person, and I'm looking for other atheist teens here, since I don't really know any. I actually joined the site back in the spring, and managed to find it again just now! I don't know much about the site atm. Feel free to message me (or...whatever's it's called on this site OTL /total noob)! :D
Greetings, Tabitha! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Feb 9th. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Cool, I followed a similar path, only without any actual belief in what I was following. I was raised Catholic, but I never actually believed any of the stories they told me about it, even from the age of 5. I got into Paganism in my late teens, mostly to annoy my religious mother, I think. Well, and I knew several cute girls who were Pagans, which probably had some effect in making me check it out.
If I had known then that Atheism would annoy my mother just as much, I could have skipped the Paganism step.
Hi Tabitha, and welcome to this friendly meeting place where we recognise--like you as a freethinking atheist--that gods are phoney and religion is used to control people;
and how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and more.
