Is Atheist Nexus in any way affiliated with the Dutch/American company Mead Products? I got some strange e-mails associated with them after signing up.

I made a video addressing YouTube. The video will give the background as to why I made it.
You can download it here:
The file-size is 15.41 MBs. It's 3 minutes and 49 seconds long. The song is a never-released Led Zeppelin studio session called "Swan Song".
I need to know what you think of the… Continue

“This is the largest institute for science and sorcery in the world” Yosef said as he, the old man, Wafai, Iosef and two guards walked though a large hallway, Yosef leading the way.
“It is impressive.” Wafai said.
“It certainly is Wafai.”
“How do you know my name? We hadn’t been introduced.”
“Iosif informed me.”
“My hearing is better that humans, I herd the whole massage he… Continue

Praise "Bob!" Here I have for you a wonderful old sermon (the oldies are the best, aren't they?) from Reverend Ivan Stang of the Church of the SubGenius, given around the time the Ice-T hit "Cop Killer" was in the news for being somehow a NEW theme in rock 'n' roll. A "new" theme that proves that what adults have been saying for (literally) millenia is right: Kids These Days are Out of Control and it's… Continue

Since I got suspended on Friday, a lot of Dangerous Talkers have e-mailed me asking what happened. I was even told that someone was waging a hate campaign against me after I was suspended so that I could not respond to his accusation. So I thought I would do my best to answer some of the questions that I got and address some of the attacks that I heard were made.
Q. Why was I suspended?
A. I was suspended without explanation. From what I had heard and what now seems to be the case, I… Continue

From time to time, you may hear certain far right elected officials (Michelle Bachmann, for instance) warn about the coming "New World Order"
. It's been a common conspiracy theory amongst conservative Christians since the 1990s, and it's become an essential component of the popular end times theology that many Christians draw from a literal interpretation of the Book of Revelations. In short, NWO conspiracy theorists… Continue

I got my own back on some "god feathers" today.
A man and his son arrived on my doorstep. When I opened the door the man started to talk about the signs we have on the window next to the door. They read "Welcome to the House of Perpetual Commotion" and "Everyone here seems normal until you get to know them".
Recognizing foot-in-the-door sales patter, I smiled and asked bluntly "What is it that you want?"
"We've come here to talk about the Bible", said the man. I… Continue

It's an interesting environment, is the intardtubs. (Little known fact: He actually meant it's a series of tubs. Yes, he is that dumb, and that lucky.) The etiquette here is variable compared to that on the outside meat. Stable enough, I suppose. I like to send friend requests without personal messages- a faux paus, true- because I like reactions. To be fair, I like positive reactions towards me, best; but who said scientists weren't biased? Regardless. I like to watch the reaction emerge, see… Continue

In case some of you really believe that Robertson is that senile. He's not. He's desperate.
Pat Robertson has absolutely nothing against Haiti.
He needs to solve a big problem with his religion and his god and he must be pro-active in countering the questions that any minister is feeling coming at him or her.
Here's the problem religious leaders have:
The God of the New Testament is said and pushed to the People as a loving, compassionate and… Continue

Do we have any proof that praying actually works? If it’s true that God is omnipotent, all-knowing and all-present, what’s the point of praying? Shouldn't He already know what you most urgently need and want? Or is He the kind of God who needs to be begged and implored?
Have you noticed what people pray for? Look at the ridiculous spectacle of a football team praying to win? God cares about football? The creator of billions of galaxies cares about football? If God didn’t intervene… Continue

I believe that:
There is absolutely no grandeur and no beauty in being some supernatural creature's project, whether it's a God or some other entity.
Because I know you're an ephemeral creature and you’re going to die, you’re infinitely precious to me. If you were just an immortal soul inhabiting a body, you’d be expendable. Why would I care about you if I know you are a soul that will live forever? If I'd know you were immortal your suffering wouldn’t be a… Continue

In The Name Of the Whip, and of the Flail and of the ...OUCH THAT HURT!
Can it really be said that one who locks himself away in a room, takes a whip or a flail that he has hanging in his closet, kneels or sits and begins beating himself is psychologically healthy? Is it not a sign of distress? Would it not be thought of as a 'cry for help', if you will allow me the cliche, to cause your self physical harm because of an… Continue

This E-mail was sent to me after my dad heard that I went to UC Davis to hear a lecture presented by PZ Myers. After he had heard about where I had been his response was, "I'll bet he said jesus did not exist, because he is as full of sh@t as a christmas turkey." A few days latter I received an E-mail with a link to this article
, so I addressed each of the paragraphs and gave my oppinion.

A little off topic but if you havent seen it yet, its pretty funny. I suppose you could call the mac a bit of a religious cult with devoted followers, and this video could be considered a parody of that cult. Yeah, I'll try to run with that.

I want to start out by saying thank you to all the friend requests and the warm welcome I have received since joining Atheist Nexus. I do have a page on Think Atheist and I did notice the vast differences between the two sites right away! I look forward to meeting more atheists on the interwebs, and possibly meeting more atheists in Michigan. I am apart of the Mid-Michigan Atheists and Humanists, atleast as of last sunday, and have yet to venture to Grand Rapids to visit the CFI. I currently… Continue

posts tons of things here and always closes comments. Its REALLY annoying and spam to use our site that way. He's also made it impossible to contact him without "friending" first, so I cant complain directly to him or in his comment sections. This is incredibly annoying and siphons traffic away from our site, and allows him to post without being able to be held accountable or debated fairly. I HATE IT!!!! Please kick… Continue

These responses are terrific! Now I have lots more gems to offer up to the true believers, if and when they will actually talk to someone who doesn't profess to have their god delusion.

Joke from the Apple iPad announcement.
Here's a question: if God exists, why didn't he send down the Ten Commandments on a tablet like Apple's iPad
instead of in stone form? That would have really knocked the socks off the Israelites.…

This is a frequent and tiresome ad hominem frequently resorted to by religious fundamentalists fast approaching total cognitive surrender, and I'd like to include a complete rebuttal here before I forget it.
To begin with I'm going to leave Hitler to one side and examine our other three lumninaries. What did Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao Tse Tung all have in common apart from their atheism? Anyone? They all had a fanatical devotion to collectivism.
In short all three… Continue
