RIP Professor and Mister Kincade. :(

Two icons and tv heros of my childhood died today.

The Professor. Mad props to anyone who can make a radio out of a coconut, but not know how to fix a hole in a boat.

And

Reuben Kinkad. More props to a man who had to deal with Danny Partridge who is now a trainwreck named Danny Bonaducci.

Bon Voyage, Professor, aka Russell Johnson.

Keep on Rockin', Dave Madden, aka Mr. Kinkade.…

Poem from the Existential Atheists Group: A Letter from the Bones of a Broken Pirate

A Letter from My Bones:

We are here to remind you of who you are.

You are temporary.

You are broken.

You are pieces and parts that fit together less and less…

On Why Believing is not an Option for Me....

On why believing is not an option for me...

There is an invisible creature that follows me everywhere I go. It reads my mind and knows my deepest secrets. The creature loves me, but it is jealous and will punish me if I don’t love it back. Since it reads my mind, the creature can even punish me for my thoughts. I must never have doubts about its complete power over me or I will be made to suffer horribly. I would do anything for the creature, even…

Great tune...

8. The Age Of The Atheist (by Sepultura 2013

What do you see depends of what you are looking for and what are you looking for, needs to be believed.

It needs to exist in your head, you need to believe to disbelief.

What do you see depends on the idea planted in your mind, what type of seeds have been planted?

What do you believe depends on what you see!

Diversions are blocking our…

Radio Show/Podcast

Very fun conversation on a somewhat goofy radio channel. It is on YouTube, but the video/ads have nothing to do with what we are discussing. Thanks to Dr. Sasha Lessin and Janet Lessin for having me on the Sacred Matrix Radio Show. They were excellent interviewers in that they kept it conversational and listened well. Dr. Lessin impressed me with his discussion of Emile Durkheim, one of the founders in the sociology and…

On being a free bird

"Prof. Kumar", my walking friend Sreeni asked " what were the initial emotions in you when you felt you have lost faith in gods, soul, afterlife & the works?"

I said, " Well, I soon realized that I was a free bird! I was accountable to myself, not to some divine voyeur constantly looking over my shoulder and marking down my every transgression, no matter how insignificant, to use against me later. A picture came in front of my eyes. I am writing an…

Pedophile priest being more christ like

Today the state and the Vatican have unveiled ancient scrolls never before seen from the Vatican archives......these scrolls appear to offer conclusive evidence that jesus really does love the little children and in fact was a pedophile......this now gives the clergy the full go ahead on anal sex with small children as they become more Christ like by sharing the love of jesus.....all prosecutions will now be on indefinite hold.....

Darwin's Doubt

Seeing the book title Darwin's Doubt at the library, I just had to check it out. Well, it didn't take long to become seething with fury.

The authur, Stephen C. Meyer, is a "creation scientist". Need I say anymore? He spends over 400 pages trying to disprove Darwin or expounding an alternative theory to evolution--"intelligent design".

Admittedly, I skimmed through much of his detailed analysis and conjectures, picking it apart in…

The Negro Motorist Green Book

Today, most folks wouldn't believe unless they saw it, but “The Negro Motorist Green Book” was a necessity for African Americans traveling around the United States during the Jim Crow era when discrimination against “people of color,” e specially blacks, ran rampant in the United…

Christians and the Big Bang

One argument I commonly come across when talking to my mother about the big bang is that it's an unstable theory since scientists have no idea what caused the big bang in the first place.

I don't know if this is an argument that is prevalent throughout the Christian community, but what I do know is that it is possibly the dumbest one I have heard in a while, even above the ridiculous argument that we can't trust scientists when they say evolution is true or that the world is 14…

Indoctrination

To lose a child to indoctrination, whether it be by religion or government programming ,has got to be worse than losing a child to death........I have not lost children to physical death, but to mind control.....it is a total nightmare that deystroys lives and relationships.......

The homeless........

Please remember the homeless this time of year and all year long. It is winter and it takes very little to be a humanist to those with nothing. A smile, hot cup of coffee or an old blanket to someone who is cold. The homeless are our brothers and sisters and in these uncertain times we could be next!

Why are you so mad?

I do not wave a sign or go running into churches screaming "Hail Satan!". I do not stomp on wooden crosses, spit on the Holy Grail, or pee on the Virgin Mary.

But

If you ask me straightforward what religion I practice or what God I believe in I will quietly and firmly let you know...I don't believe in sparkles and I don't practice fairy tales. But in a nice way.

And inevitably they have questions. Questions and questions....and oh...did I say questions.? If I happen to…

The Crazy Ones

For the life of me, I don't understand why reasonably sane people watch football games in person.

I've done it, with regrets. I've sat in the rain--and cold. But that was years ago, before one could watch most games on television.

I wondered what obsessed fans to sit in frigid seats to watch Green Bay play (and lose) San Francisco. After all, it was on TV. What does a playoff ticket cost, anyway?  What kind of seats do those fans have? Bet mine is better! How many layers to go…

Creation from nothing – how, by what or who?

The crux of debate about the origin of the universe is whether something can arise spontaneously from nothing, that is that the Big Bang was a contingent event without any cause, such as an 'uncreated creator'.

The central concept that receives little or no attention in this debate is the concept of 'nothing'. By definition, nothing cannot exist. How then do we then even arrive at the idea of nothing?

The word 'nothing' is simply a contraction of 'no thing'. This shows that…

People who swear a lot.......

Being the truck driver that I am I find myself a little rough around the edges........I fucking love to swear! I trust people that are more openly rough around the edges over the ethically elite.......you know the ones who back stab, cut throats, lie cheat and steal.......I can cuss the wall paper off the wall and am damn proud to be a member of the unethical when it comes to who I am......so please each and everyone try and shout a go fuck yourself or something of that nature.......whether…

Surrounded by Christians

Hello!

I am relatively new here, and this is my first post. I'm a busy Mom and I don't usually take the time to blog about anything.

But I am annoyed.......again! I thought that if I survived another holiday season of listening to many of my Christian friends and family 'take sides in the war on christmas', that I could just go on with my life until the phony war rears up its ugly head again.

Now, I am more of a political junky, and my main concern is money in politics.…
