So I just found out from the boyfriend's sister that their father is doing much better now. Wait, I didn't even say WHY this is good:
Alright. So two weeks ago, my boyfriend's father was hit from the back while he was on his motorcycle. He always was a responsible person(making sure he was seen while on his bike, wore his helmet and such).
Well, he was going to pick up his son(not the boyfriend, but the bf's little brother) and was waiting for the light to change. As…Continue
Being a student at an HBCU in a state considered to be a part of the bible belt, with religious parents and family, it feels great to be in a website/group that won't immediately consider me insane.
First, the worse thing to see when you're getting ready to write a blog entry is a banner for bug killers. Ugh, did they HAVE to use roaches?!
(sorry, I really hate bugs and vermin)
I've been doing a bit of writing today, and a bit of reading. One article(I'm thinking more of an opinion piece) was on "Why Men are Angry". And it got my brain to spinning.I'm 29 and I notice that kids(yes, we are still kids even though some of us have houses and a family...ask our…Continue
Just saw an article in the UNLV campus newspaper on my Sex and Religion talk. The reporter did a good job summarizing it.

I recently found this site through a friend, and found it fascinating.
However, I would like to sayone thing. Some of your members like to lie.
i found, to my surprise, that my sister was on this site, telling some very
untru things about our life. True, we were raised in a horrid, fundamentalist
atmosphere that has taught us all what a sham religion is, but she was way, way
too young to remember all she claims, and she basically had a very normal…Continue

If only other species could lead for awhile. . .since our species seems so inept.
I might actually suggest The Newts--gentle, deliberate, slow, peaceful, amphibious, non-theist. . .if Mr. Faith-of-Our-Flounders wasn't desecrating the word:
What if Republicans controlled the country? What would we look like?
I've never been part of a group and AN feels like a support group right now. Thank you. I've had what I thought were unique and sometimes humiliating experiences that I'm going to get off my chest today. Pardon my french because this post will be peppered with profanity.
I lived in Houston and the folks I worked with felt the constant fucking irritating need to pray for me, often at work. I was dealing with some serious issues with my son and in a moment of weakness after…Continue
Who’s seen this movie?
And who knows the history?
I got the movie out, knowing nothing about it. I watched the whole thing, surprised that it had some supernatural type scenes in it – in the form of dream sequence, but going along with the creativity of the movie all the same.
Then I get to the extra bits. The making of the movie type thing on the DVD. And I get a whole lot of Christian propaganda.

It is a normal practice for a theist to attribute everything to god from creation of the universe to its day to day running and finally destruction. His attitude towards science is that it should prove that there was no such thing as god. That shows a crisis of confidence in the theist mind.
Science believes in inquiry and experimentation in order to validate something.…
Like it or not it seems the drug screen has become a rite of passage in this age of corporate control.
Congress does not take any annual drug screens that I know of. This may be part of the reason some good legislation gets blocked and some bad legislation gets approved. Certainly, when I take my annual drug test with cohorts and the ones that fail get bounced, it makes my workplace more productive.
Are Congress people more productive outside of the broadly implemented…
Hey gang, hope all is well with you today.
They've been off for a couple of weeks, but they return tonight (8 pm ET/5 pm PT, simulcast at Freethought Radio [http://www.freethoughtradio] with repeats throughout the week) with a lot to say! Who's that, you ask? Why, none other than RJ Evans and David 2 - co-hosts of ShockNet Radio's American Heathen, a three-hour LIVE extravaganza of news, commentary, analysis, satire and a good dose of…Continue
