Dear Victoria Jackson

Thanks for taking a stand against Gays and Homosexuals citing the Bible as strong support against the gay lifestyle and "agenda". The bible is clearly in favor of stoning gays, killing apostates, punishing disobedient children with death, killing disobedient slaves, and most importantly killing anyone (immediately and without hesitation) who tries to sway you from the faith. Your words have characterized the bible accurately, and demonstrate a person who really has read it and believes what…

Finally, the proof we have all been asking for!

Not a bad way to make some cash, in retrospect.

Another Secular Student Alliance production, sort of...

I just learned, via facebook, that the SkeptICTs of Wichita State University are going to have a free event this May 21, 2011. It is being put on by the Air Capital Skeptics. I guess this is the day for "Rapture" as it is being held as a "Rapture Day" event. Apparently another religious adherent has taken it upon himself to figure out the day that Jesus is going to return to Earth. Or at least begin the Rapture.I think it should be May 22, so we wo0uldn't have to deal with their crap…

Could Ronald Reagan Win the Republican Nomination Today?

Yes, America is in that wonderful pre-election cycle where every would-be Republican presidential candidate is testing the waters for a run for the presidency in 2012 and each of these candidates will evoke the memory of Reagan and their claim to his legacy.  Fact is, in 2011 America, Reagan’s popularity has never been higher.  WWRD (or what would…

I think I was thrown out of church this morning.

Trouble is, I had been drinking since St. Patrick’s Day, and things have been a little fuzzy. I remember bringing in a 4-leaf clover and placing it on a statue of Jesus on the cross. A carpenter nailed to two pieces of wood? His luck had obviously run out. They tossed me out before I could give him a tall glass of beer and a big sloppy Irish kiss. :(

I can't laugh at this, it makes me too angry

In Crawford,Tx  an 11 year old girl was gang raped by 18 adult men. I call them adult men because I'm sorry, if you are a young man(age 16) and you willingly rape an 11 year old girl, you are now an adult.

What makes me angry is the fact that there are honestly people playing the race card. An 11 year old girl has been brutally raped, and people are just so selfish and self-important that they just HAVE to remove the responsibility that is firmly on the correct shoulders, and…

A case for building sturdier nuclear power plants.

The 8.9 Richter earthquake of 11 march 2011 afternoon and subsequent tsunami which devastated most of Japan has raised before the world a moral and scientific poser on the issue of safety of nuclear plants. The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power plant has since become a cause for concern because of fears of a nuclear meltdown and leakage of radiations from the reactor owing to a failure of the designed cooling system. The fission reactor (Mark 1…

After taking in the latest movie from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, my feelings are mixed. I feel that I should like the movie more, especially with its strong anti-theology slant (actually, only anti-Abrahamic religions slant), but I just don’t feel that it lives up to what the duo accomplished in “…

The Tyranny of the Ignorant: Another lesson learned in my youth…

In high school I had three BFF’s (Best Friends Forever!) all of them had higher grades than I did and being somewhat insecure about that I thought that meant they actually knew more than I did. I am still friends with one of them but this tale involves the other two, I’ll call them Jen and Jane. During a conversation I only vaguely remember I used the word “cobbler” as in “He lives across the street from a cobbler.” Be aware that I grew up in Calgary, AB Canada, but my parents…

My Conversion from Christian To Atheist

This all started when I was 14 years old. At this time in my life i was really going through alot and i was becoming depressed. My life at home was horrible. I was to the point of suicide. Well the same week that i was planning the end of me, we get a new bus driver. i know teachers and people of the sort are not suppose to bring there religions on students but i guess she didnt care. At the time i didnt know much about god. So she asked me to coe visit her church, so i did. My family knew…

Unholy Thoughts; A poem

Atoms, molecules, and cells;

Skin and bone and organs...

Conscoiusness, thoughts, and emotions? I am feeling and moving and trembling.

Thoughts of everything and nothing floating about my mind; jumbled and mixed together, like a puzzle that is never quite solved. A jigsaw in my head, screaming to fit together, longing for its proper place.

Darkness encroaching on the light, making happiness meaningless yet glamorous. Unattainable solace…
