So, I've been trying to figure out a way to post stuff here regularly. I have the odd tendency to disapperate every few weeks for a few months and I don't really like that. To deal, I need to set it up such that I come back here at least once a week for some reason or another.
To do this,…

I don't fully know what
http://www.fixedearth.com/ is, and I'm not sure I want to spend all of my time figuring it out. In a nutshell, physics is wrong, Copernicus was wrong, Einstein was wrong, they were all Jews and Kaballists, and the Earth is the center of the universe.
And the guy recording these podcasts has a little imaginary friend or puppet…

The following is not my typical style of writing because it amounts to little more than appeals to authority. Citing sources is essential in scholarly writing because the author must give credit for the source of information. However, simply citing authorities to back up one’s own claim reflects a dogmatic frame of mind. Decorating one’s writing with citations…

A bunch of pussies. Reservations are for dinner, not the philosophical foundations of one’s life. A respect for those of faith? Why should anybody have respect for
institutionalized stupidity? My imaginary friend disappeared when I was
about three or four. How…

The "usual" criticism of homeschooling stacks up like this:
* Socialization
* Curriculum
* Multiculturalism
* lack of testing
* homeschoolers have fewer resources
* poor quality of teacher
* homeschoolers are ideologically-driven
* homeschooled children are ill-equipped to function in society
* and keeping funding from the public schools.

I am delighted to take each of these issues separately.…

I was looking at the comments of a video on Youtube and I come across an anarchist with the typical anarchists
argument meaningless rhetoric about taxes: "its extortion" and "its theft".

These anarchists will call taxes theft and whine and wangst about the problems in our…

In a recent visit to London, the Holy Vicar of Christ continues with the past lies of the Catholic Church, continues to shirk the responsibility of his Church, and continues to spread misconceptions that are obviously false.…

(JBH) Greetings- I have a thought I'd like to toss out for discussion.
A blogger I read recently said he had "backslid" from atheism to agnosticism, because he had read a new and improved version of a certain philosophical argument for the existence of God. He was aware that many such arguments have been refuted, and some past refutations have been overcome by revisions in the pro-god arguments, and so forth. There are still some professional philosophers…

Yesterday travelled down to London to hook-up with fellow hootoo-er Effers (AKA Alison) to join the Protest The Pope Campaign.
Her account can be read here.
We
rendezvoused at St Pancras as planned and navigated the tube to Hyde Park, we knew we were in the right area as we began following the devout with these little yellow "Pilgrim… Continue

First of all, I really wanted to make a difference.
I ruled out blogging and writing on forums because I don’t have that kind of time and arguing with christians is frustrating.
Then I considered the Youtube, but I’m not a charismatic person and the only option was to add subtitles to English language clips and post them on my own channel, which I had to start from scratch, so the impact would have been quite…

French Senate Passes Full Veil Ban
Full Muslim veils will soon be illegal in France: The French Senate passed a ban by a vote of 246 to 1
on Tuesday, and the measure has already passed the lower chamber. Now
there are 10 days for dissenters to challenge the measure, which is
considered unlikely. Several Muslim women have vowed to continue wearing
the face-covering veils, despite the…

Pope Benedict is in the UK in Birmingham to celebrate the beatification
of Cardinal John Henry Newman this weekend. Is this beatification really
justified based on the evidence of him performing a miracle? Read this

yourselves.For my money it looks like the Catholic Church is up to it's old tricks again. Plus ca change!…

How can any human pretend to know the meaning of life? How can someone know exactly why we are here and what we become, and what happens when we die? How do we know what happiness means for everyone? We cannot know any of this. The only person that can know this is that person to themselves. Nobody else can tell us what is wrong to us or what makes us happy. In life we make general rules as to what is not expected from society in regards to morals, but what makes someone happy is left up to the…

On March 18, 2008 I was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I was given a year to live. Happily the doc missed the deadline. Unfortunately, the church ladies have been trying to save my soul. Oh no! It's relentless. I know that they mean well but it's so bothersome. I wish they would afford the same courtesy to my lack of beliefs as I do their superstitions. Sorry. I just needed to vent a little.
