Do you think God is happy that slavery is illegal?

Do you think God is happy that slavery is illegal?  Put yourself in God's shoes for a second: If you wrote a book of instructions for all humans to follow, wouldn't you expect them to follow it letter by letter? What if these pesky little humans started questioning and eliminating your rules?  You'd want to send all of those little bastards to Hell!

Pepper spray and protesters

Pepper spray use by law enforcement against non-violent protesters is clearly outrageous. Police protect property, not non-violent protesters.  Furthermore, why are the police and fire fighters not standing with protesters?  They lose team members with reductions in state and local budgets. The goal is to weaken unions, disable protesters, keep working people poor and shackle small businesses.

Obama snookered us. Obama can't change parts of a flawed system, but has to transform the…

Feel the fear?

Fear the ultimate motivator, for some the threat of something is enough to make them compliant, for others it can have the reverse effect of actually leading to rebellion and defiance. Fear can be very real, producing both physical and mental changes in an individual or whole groups.

So what fear have you faced?

Mondo Diablo Episode 330: A Prayer for the Brutal Death of our Enemies, and Drinking Game

Due to an unfortunate run-in with some proprietary software, this week's playlist is gone. To compensate for this injustice, I have included a fun drinking game. It's very easy to play: just take a drink of your favorite beverage when commanded! Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Etiquette for Children…

Cain Can Screw The Whole Country, Not Just His Life

Question, should a presidential candidate run without full disclosure and force America, if elected, to potentially look up to the vice president to run the nation?  I am, so far, a cancer survivor and indeed to continue to be a cancer survivor.  As you know, Herman Cain claims to be a cancer survivor, but not many people know what type of cancer he has.  If its stage 4 cancer as some people have stated, that’s pretty serious and I think the public must know, so that they know what they are…

My Visit from a Witness

When you're going door to door, you never know who's door you're knocking on.  Such was the case yesterday, when a kind-natured pair of women (Jehova's Witnesses, Bible in hand) paid me a visit.  Actually, it was a revisit.  They had stopped by once before and made either physical or mental note of my Atheism.

Their last visit was brief.  This one was much longer.  The protagonist of the pair had some 'new evidence' that she wanted to share with me.  She handed me a leaflet…

The World Is Desperate For Leadership

Last night I went to a gathering with friends to celebrate the life of a 31-year old surfer who died from a rare disease. Most of the people attending the gathering in celebration were free thinkers and Buddhists, which made for interesting discussion and celebration of a life of a liked and giving man. Believe it or not the topic that came to the fore at about 8 o clock at night was how desperate the world seems for leadership, and that everywhere including the US seems to have people who…

The National Atheist Party Is Born!

Before I start on my rant, I do want to say that I admire and respect those who took the initiative to take on such a major venture that is, in my opinion, a historic turning point.

It is a necessary and important step.

Kudos to them, even if I don’t agree with the name of the party.…

A Matter of Priorities

All right – let me see if I can get this straight:

An assistant coach on the Penn State football team allegedly molested a number of children over a period of time.  Result: a previously well-respected football coach – Joe Paterno – and the president of the university both lose their jobs.  The media is all over this story like white on rice and a full-on investigation of the entire incident is in process.

Meantime … the story of child abuse within the catholic church has…

Egyptian Atheist risks her life and poses nude for freedom and human rights!

I absolutely admire this young brave lady and her boyfriend for standing up against tyranny. In a country that has Islamic fervor, these brave young individuals have sent a statement to those who value freedom to not be afraid of speaking up for your values. And what are those values? FREEDOM. Deciding what to do with your life and how to express yourself. I stand with these brave young souls for 110% - and this is coming from an…

Thrown out of church today.

At one point during the service, the pastor said "Jesus paid the price," shortly after he starts passing around a collection plate asking for money.  Hah!  No thanks, I saw what happened to Jesus.
