I don't know if any of you are interested in the popes speech at Assisi, nevertheless, I have a few remarks that I feel inspired to convey.
“If one basic type of violence today is religiously motivated and thus confronts religions with the question as to their true nature and obliges all of us to undergo purification, a second complex type of violence is motivated in precisely the opposite way: as a result of…

Odin Zeus McGaffer is back, and more offensive than ever. The highly anticipated follow up to Does God Get Diarrhea? is finally here in all of its disgusting glory. Dive into McGaffer's twisted mind where nothing is sacred and no subject is taboo. Jesus Is Lard offers a slightly different view of religion with hysterical commentary, comedic perspectives, and outrageous artwork. Far from mainstream, this book…Continue

Just a few minutes ago, a couple of young boys---probably about 12, 13---rang my doorbell and handed me a 1 page flyer from the Trinity Baptist Church. The front page has directions to, and info about, the church. The back page tells me (1) I am a sinner (ah,------they don't even know me), (2) God has placed a price on my sin-------DEATH,---Romans 6:23a
I'm minding my own business, in my own home, eating a pizza, and 2 young strangers come to my home, uninvited, and…Continue
How Religious Jerks Buy Licenses For Transgressions
In Sevilla and some places nearby in southern Spain, every year in the spring, the Semana Santa is celebrated. There are fraternities affiliated with every church. During that week, every fraternity performs a procession, that can last up to 14 hours. On a heavy float, the main figure from the church is carried by men underneath. Other men march, with a costume and a hood…

I’ve been watching the republican debates, as well as the republican, democratic, and independent media that are covering the debates, and I must say it truthfully becomes more embarrassing by the moment. Cain is being attacked for a possible harassment charge from years ago, and it isn’t the charge that he’s being attacked for, but whatever it is, he was being dishonest about it to the public. Perry is being attacked for his Evangelical movement ties. Romney is being attacked for his…Continue

So has anyone not seen all the revolutions going on in the world today? The problem with having a revolution without having a firm goal in mind other than kicking the old regime out is that it then can be hijacked by whichever group has a consistent stance and ideology . It doesn't really matter which ideology . As long as you pick a stance and stick to it you and your compatriots can wait for the revolution to be over and then seize power while the smoke is still settling . And the thing…Continue

I'm an Atheist, but I like most Theists. Really, I do. Admittedly I don't agree with them, but I'm also…Continue
My parents are pretty confusing when it comes to their religious beliefs. Neither of them are hardcore or anything, and I think they simply believe because they never really (seriously) considered anything else. My mom usually speaks about God (when she does) in a general way, while I think my dad would be a tiny bit more "Christian-y" about it. My father can easily poke fun at Christianity and bring up silly questions (such as whether or not Jesus knew about pizza at the time he was alive,…Continue
I've been struggling to think what annoys me more about the whole St Paul's/Protesters saga. The reporting by the BBC, the Church's bizarre conceit or the Tories' response and the Lib Dems' lack of one. At every turn, the protesters have behaved correctly. Their message is what many of us, who sat cross legged in front of the local vicar at school, were assured was Jesus' message. Remember all that stuff about why the fat camel couldn't find heaven in a big pile…Continue
