I started writing a lens on Squidoo to promote some of my atheist relevant web content but then I branched out from there to other topics.
If you want to help a starving atheist afford her meds next month, visit some of my Squidoo lenses. My rankings increase according to the number of views I get combined with the star ratings others give my pages. All of this adds up to about $12 per month for lenses that stay in the top two thousand on Squidoo.
So you can help the poor… Continue

The last story on the show was called "Hands Off". Here is the Summary:
"In 2002, REAL SPORTS took an in-depth look at the fevered debate over the nationwide movement to ban dodge ball in schools. Critics of the game argued that it teaches an excessively violent message to kids, while opponents of the movement feared that banning dodge ball is the first step down a slippery slope to an over-sensitized world where kids aren't allowed to be kids. Now, seven… Continue

Please check out my sculpture project and let me know any feedback you might have.
This has nothing to do with atheism, it just has to do with well, me.

"I'd like a bloody mary please." "I'm sorry sir, it's Sunday."
"What's your point?"
"What do you mean I can't buy my kids clothes?" "Not until Noon, Sir. You can only buy food." "Are you fucking kidding me with this shit?" "No, Sir, Blue Law."
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. This is the kind of shit that frustrates the shit out of me. Religion can eat my ass.

When Jesus put his sword in the air, I expected him to say, "I am He-Man!". Those Jehovah's sure know how to make a cartoon for little kids.

In the next few days I will be sending out a press release for a new group I wish to develop. It has occurred to me that there are many people out there who would not call themselves Atheists or even Agnostics, yet they have a real sense of how religion has infected them and hurt them in many ways. The name of the group will be Recovering Religionists, and will have principles similar to the old AA twelve steps without any god references. My vision is to create meetups that will be directed by… Continue

There are plenty of people in the world, whether they be Christian or not, who, while describing the various attributes of their god, describe their god as being "perfect". They say things such as this, from Omegafaith:
God is perfect in grace, in wisdom, in knowledge, in beauty, in holiness, in love, in power, in righteousness, in justice, in all that He is and all that He does. There is no thought or word or deed of God that is less than the ultimate it could be.
It is not… Continue

I don't know whether I should be proud or ashamed. Isabel, my 3 year old, is learning the names of her fingers and is displaying them proudly here for daddy. She calls her index finger her 'windex' finger.LOL At least she's not in public showing us the different fingers and their names like my 4 year old did!

I had a doctor's appt. for my yearly exam, and for the second time (by different nurses) I was preached to. The nurse took me back to the room and started asking normal questions like, "Are you on vitamins, excersing, and eating well?". Than she asked me if I had a good support system with my family, friends, church, ect. I didn't think much about it, so I just said 'yes'. Then she asked me if I was 'slightly, moderately or very religious'. WTF??? I was surprised so I said, "None of the above".… Continue

I wonder about this jesus guy. If you ask me. I think he was a vampire and not a zombie. they try to kill him but before he dies he releases his spirit/soul. vampires have no souls right? then he comes back and doesn't make any huge outdoor appearances like he used to. has an indoor meeting and a meeting outside at night. scared of the sun maybe? and what's with the whole drink my blood thing? He seems too cognitive to be a zombie and more concerned with blood than brains. killed on a cross?… Continue

Eh -- I've had a couple of glasses of Shiraz. I feel like sharing my thoughts.
I call this "Room For Thought"
That I don't believe in gods is well established. I do leave room for error, of course, as we can never be quite sure that we have a firm grip on what is 'real'. I do know one thing for certain. Even if there are gods, I will refuse to submit.
I know we atheists blame religion for many acts of oppression, war, genocide and other worldly ills. We… Continue

I'm writing an essay on 2012 - Doomsday, where I talk about the variety of reactions leading up to the date.
I have done a bit of research on past Doomsday events, and thought I would share the section pertaining to religion. This is just a rough draft, I have some more ideas I plan on adding, and if anyone has any other ideas on how people will react, religiously speaking, I'd sure like to hear them!
OK. Here's the section:
"Highly religious people are… Continue

In my book I write about infection techniques but the more I study those techniques the more appreciation I have for the role of decreased immune resistance in the process. You tend to get sick when your immune system is suppressed or weakened by stress. Opportunistic disease organisms take advantage of the weakness to infect. Many people get infected when they are young and have little resistance to religion and are under the intimidating protection of religious parents. Adults often get… Continue

so the family I nanny for are baptists and the kids REALLY wanted me to come to church with them on Sunday, I at first said absolutely not.. but they kept asking so I agreed. Let me say wtf!!!!!.. So we first start praying to Jesus to forgive our sins then start singing this song about knowing jesus is alive with us today... then the pastor gave a speech on reasons why to believe jesus was resurrected from the grave. His first point was that there was a huge rock in front of his cave where he… Continue

I received by e-mail today Prof. Lynch's approval of your MALS Essay. He was very favorably impressed -- especially by your accounts the career difficulties of individual singers.
That would be the e-mail I got this morning from my Directing Professor. Here I was, dreading opening it, knowing there would be alot revisions to make, down to the wire, like last time. Well, at least I don't have to present it in any evil professor's classroom/office.… Continue

In no way am I condoning or advocating drinking and driving. In the fashion of the great Czech writer, Franz Kafka, I wish only to portray what happens to the individual under Draconian, police-state conditions.
In jail for the first time... 51 years old, imagine. Look at this place. Must be the holding pen where they keep the pigeons ‘til bail’s posted. If you don't have the hard cash, you go in with the… Continue
