I enjoyed my recent conversation with wingnut Kirk Cameron so much I decided to see if I could get his business partner and fellow loon, Ray Comfort, to grant me an interview. Mr. Comfort immediately responded to my email and graciously agreed to speak with me briefly by phone the next time he sat down to use the toilet. The next afternoon I received his call and recorded this 5-7… Continue

Analysing debates between Christian apologists and Atheists has led me to the conclusion that the vast majority of Christian apologists who do such attacking of Atheism in public, demonstrate quite clearly their disingenuous belief system by the nature of and the fallacies within their arguments.
These disingenous people are really simply using religion to print money.…

I just learned, via facebook, that the SkeptICTs of Wichita State University are going to have a free event this May 21, 2011. It is being put on by the Air Capital Skeptics. I guess this is the day for "Rapture" as it is being held as a "Rapture Day" event. Apparently another religious adherent has taken it upon himself to figure out the day that Jesus is going to return to Earth. Or at least begin the Rapture.I think it should be May 22, so we wo0uldn't have to deal with their crap… Continue

2009 was the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin birth and also the 150th anniversary of the publishing of On The Origins of Species In 1859. In The United Kingdom the Royal Mint has issued a commemorative two pound coin with the stuck pose of Darwin on the right facing across from a portrayal of chimpanzee. On the front of the coin is, of course, the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is issued in a limited edition and you may be able to order on from the website listed… Continue

My wife and I went to go see Dr. Darrel Ray, psychologist and author of the best-selling book The God Virus
, speak yesterday in Memphis. His talk was a very thought-provoking and provocative look at how religion continues to spread despite the fact that logically, most religious belief makes very little logical sense. Ray… Continue

In the next few days I will be sending out a press release for a new group I wish to develop. It has occurred to me that there are many people out there who would not call themselves Atheists or even Agnostics, yet they have a real sense of how religion has infected them and hurt them in many ways. The name of the group will be Recovering Religionists, and will have principles similar to the old AA twelve steps without any god references. My vision is to create meetups that will be directed by… Continue

I have listened to Rich Orman's Dogma Free America for a couple of years and love his international flavor to understanding the impact of religion on the world. This week he had me on his podcast to talk about The God Virus. You can listen to it on iTunes or download it from his website: http://dogmafreeamerica.com/index.php?post_id=452268
Rich has a great interview style and certainly did his homework before the podcast. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Had a great conversation with Rich Orman on his podcast, Dogma Free America. You can listen to it through iTunes of his website http://www.dogmafreeamerica.com/ It will be on line around April 8.
His is one of the three or four free thought podcasts I listen to every week. I have listened to his podcast for a couple of years now and enjoy its "wider angle" view of the issues we all are concerned about on the planet. What is different is their more international view of religion's… Continue

I love Dawkins video on mental viruses and have added it to my videos. If you have never seen it, take a look. It is still the best articulation of the concept that I have found.

We have all been in church singing religious songs of some sort. Occasionally you may have thought about the words and realized how inane they are, or worse yet, how seriously wrong they are. For example, Amazing Grace. Sing the words a few bars and pretty soon you learn that you are a loser, you are lost, you are blind and your are totally guilty, and that is just the start. Why do churches sing such crazy things? It is directly related to the guilt cycle that facilitates religious infection… Continue

"...But if you want everlasting life, that’s a completely different issue, and that’s where Christianity is unique. Almost all religions are what are called “works righteousness” religions. By that I mean they maintain that you have to do something to merit salvation (eternal life). However, Christianity says that we can’t do that because we are criminals in God’s eyes, who have seriously violated His Law. That means that anything we try and do to please God (fasting, praying, etc.) are not… Continue

Ray Comfort is a vacuous chode. This isn't exactly new but I had to say it. I don't hate the guy, I've never met him. I think his views are skewed and his polarizing opinions are nothing but damaging but I don't hate him. Heck, there's even a chance, albeit slim, that we might get along as long as things stayed completely neutral on religion. Anyway...
He's changed the name of his blog to "atheist central", which is probably true considering the number of links his site gets from… Continue
