Scientists such as Victor Stenger et al., hold that the existence of a God like that worshipped by the big three monotheisms (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), can be disproved. These men point out certain known facts about these gods. It is well known, for example, that in the Hebrew Scriptures, the Christian Old and New Testaments, and…Continue
I don't believe that "Gut Feeling" is exclusively highly developed among persons without a formal education in science. There are many examples of self-educated persons who have a highly developed sense of direction that is not consciously derived. In fact, I think a person educated in science, who is also a free thinker, will have an even higher developed and more sharpened "Gut Feeling". The label may be the more eloquent "Intuition" or "ESP".
In the same way that you may…Continue

"On the 6th of June 2012 - I travelled to London, Buckingham Palace, The Mall. To the Royal Galleries to see the newly opened "Da Vinci: Anatomist" exhibit. This was truly awesome, and luckily they let me take my camera inside.... It's taken me a while to…Continue
Are you ready?
J: Reading City of God, and St. Augustine just used Greek philosophy/paganism to prove that Jesus Christ is the only sensible mediator between God and man.
Richard: Proof? oh please do let us hear it!
Random Interjection: You could read it for yourself, rather than…Continue
In the past decade more than 100 million people have left the Christian Church, but that has not stopped conservative religionist from trying to force their point of view into public schools. Since Texas passed its “prayer bill” in 2006, numerous “Bible Belt”…Continue

Yeah, sorry about the wait. Again, my excuse is sickness. Anyway, you might like this. It's from a French series from the seventies or eighties. I like it because it makes no excuses or tries to sooth Creationists' feelings, and gets right to evolution. I also like the Commedia troupe qualities of the characters. Pierre et Pierrette. It's nice to know they still use those types, even though we American…Continue

Education is one of the most important areas we can invest in as a society and yet our graduation rates are dropping. Proper investment in Education can lead to an increase in social mobility, a decrease in prejudice, and an increase in industry specialization which we are lacking when compared to other nations.…Continue
I figure one of the major differences between religion and science is it takes much, Much, MUCH longer for religion to admit when it's wrong.
The foibles of human cognition are found among the religious and the non-religious alike; among theists and nontheists. One such foible is "The Great Man Theory of History". I have written and illustrated a critique of this theory here on my blog. It is pertinent especially with the recent assassination of Osama bin Ladin.
My post reviews the scientific…Continue

Looks like newly elected Oklahoma State Senator is getting a real education in foot in mouth disease. Since his editorial has been posted in The Durant Daily Democrat on December 22, 2010 there has been
national reaction in the forums blogs and other places as well. Sadly it
looks like we [none creation people] are going to be the losers in this
battle. If you have been keeping up with my blogs you know that I have
mentioned the idea that those that are faced with facts…
