Playing Safe: Belief in God, Due To the Possibility One May Exist (Pascal's Wager) is Idiotic! Why?

This is still the most common excuse I get from agnostics and even some non-church going Christians.

They Don't Want To Be Wrong about God's Existence, so they are playing it safe, hoping that if there is really a God and an afterlife, they will be in for a place in Heaven.

They are thus living an Irrational Delusion.

Over on Facebook, a Christian, named Shawn, attempted to challenge my atheism. He said: “The way I look at it you have a 50/50 chance of being right. So what happens if you are wrong? I will even ask you this: what happens if you are right?”

Pascal's Wager: Why our 'Faith' is far stronger than any Christian's.

If you aren't familiar with Pascal's Wager, it essentially argues that you should believe/honor/flatter God if only to hedge your bets. If you're wrong and there's no afterlife, nothing lost. But if you don't believe/honor/flatter and God's punitive afterlife turns out to have been real, boy won't you be sorry! It's like the Lotto: You can't win if you don't play.
