First of all, no one is really Pro-abortion. Really its for the right to be able to have one or not.
Mr. Geerup's entire argument here is that every fetus or zygote has a unique set of DNA so it is 'special' and aborting said fetus… Continue

Apparently there was a blog about a woman who made that tough decision to give birth to her baby, even though it was terminally ill. However, a little bit of research exposed this woman as not pregnant.
The whole thing was a hoax.

The Martyrdom of Stephen
I often hear Christians say that one testimony for the truth of the Gospel is the fact that people died to promote it. Beginning with Stephen's martyrdom, they point to the threats to life & limb that early Christians endured, all to carry their faith to the world.
Wouldn't a… Continue

I guess I don't have to tell you guys, the last thing you want to be telling people who suffer from delusions is that mystical demons roam amongst them. But society has a huge problem with calling people's religion into question, this
By the way, yes this is my blog and yes I'm still in the process of building it. I'll be glad to get any constructive criticism.

I often judge a book by how much it makes me think and reflect. Frank Schaeffer's, Crazy for God: How I Grew Up as One of the Elect, Helped Found the Religious Right, and Lived to Take All (or Almost All) of It Back - certainly passed that test. The outdoors, mountains, adventures with firecrackers, hunting, hiking and, of course religion, all were a big part of my childhood and relationship with my father as it was for Frank. Some other similarities struck me as well. As the oldest, my mother… Continue

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) has been languishing in committee, just like Bill the bill, for many years now. Under Bush and his cronies there was no chance it would pass, so shelved it has remained. Until now.
President Obama, as a senator from Illinois, co-sponsored the 2007 version of this bill, so he should be happy to sign it in 2009. Congress should re-introduce it. As soon as Franken is sworn in and all the other electoral disputes are resolved, Congress needs to pass it so… Continue

I just came from this group as I was intrigued how one could be Anti Choice without also believing that a soul is created at the moment of conception. I mean isn't that the only real basis for being Anti Choice? If not then I guess the argument is that Society should intervene in an adult Woman's reproductive rights and force her to carry a child to term because...... I just don't know? Doesn't it have to be that something magical happens at conception and that the rights of a zygote now trumps… Continue

The atrocity going on in the Gaza Strip is a prime example of the poison of religion. The death toll is now over 600 including civilians. This is all because of a disagreement of religion. They want this 'sacred' plot of land. We're talking about the massacre of children in a UN school and blatant disregard for 'collateral damage'. People are losing their homes, families and lives over this trivial medieval idea of god. I know its asking a lot but it would be nice for these blind, brainless… Continue

I started out watching The Root of All Evil on youtube tonight. When I got to the part where Dawkins is witnessing a church's plans to put together a Hell House, I had to stop watching, to think. Things just hit too close to home for me. I found a documentary following the creation and execution of a hell house, and rented it to watch. It brought back some memories, things I had tried to forget. I found myself breathing with great difficulty throughout the film. (If you aren't sure what a hell… Continue

I keep hearing all these thumpers saying we should make abortion illegal. Their logic being, "It's taking a life, no different than a murdurer." My question is, how are they going to follow each person around and know if they terminated their pregnancies? Maybe they found a way to do it themselves. I never claimed to be the smartest person on earth, but I think making abortion illegal would be catastrophic. You would have young girls dying from back alley abortions. You would have all kinds of… Continue

I posted a piece this morning on MySpace.
I woke up and ran to my laptop with the idea oozing from my ears.
Here is it:
Abortion is wrong.
I will accept any Atheist Nexus friend request with a smile.
We need more of us on MySpace.

Strange site, interesting articles.
Abort the Noise
The most serious flaw in anti-abortion zealotry is the illusion that a pro-life Constitutional amendment means no more abortions, or at least hardly any. Illegal abortions in great number existed pre-Roe. Negate Roe via the pro-life amendment and they will continue in great number. Continue

Reading this right-wing article I was struck with the notion that it only seems that public officials seem to be the only target for this Canon 915.
Link to article: Will Denver Catholic Archbishop finally enforce Canon 915?
So I was wandering, why not the flock. If it were the case to hold back Communion because of somebodies involvement with abortion then why not all the women, and those who supported… Continue
