The event will be about Kasese Humanist School marking 7 years in existence and appreciating its growth over the years from the rented Railway building properties to its new home located in Scheme ward, Kyondo cell , Rukoki in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.Continue
I don't hide my Humanism. I have learned over the years of being out that I do harm by hiding my values. People want and need to learn about this secular philosophy, so every time we hide our humanism and talk about something else, we prevent these people from finding a philosophic home that will not only help them live better, but it will allow them to finally through off the last vestiges of religious thought.
There are a lot of different ways people come to Humanism. Some…

When I was teaching, my classroom consisted of chaos, many things going on at once, few sat in their chairs, some sat at drawing boards, others in discussion groups, many in reading areas, clay and paper and paints and chalk existed scattered throughout with no sense of order. I do not…Continue

AFTER THE STIMULUS: Federal revenues for public elementary and secondary education dropped by a whopping 21.5 percent in fiscal year 2012. The numbers are laid out in reports today by the National Center for Education Statistics. While it's a major plunge, it's mostly attributed…Continue
I like to think the U.S.A. is the greatest country in the world. I have heard it said, over and over. However, when I look around at the events and systems that hold our culture together, I know it is not true ... at least not now ... maybe never. We started out as a slave holding nation, which gives lie to the Declaration of Independence; we were founded on the principles of white, male, landowners as citizens, when suggested U.S. isn't a nation of the free, and we only made citizens of…Continue
Violence after violence impacted my development. Those episodes developed defenses in me and impacted the ways I think and feel and act. Why? Who benefited by the violence? Who paid the price for each experience? Do other families have such memories? What makes a family healthy?
I am a citizen of the United States of America, a questioner, doubter, thinker, dreamer, visionary. I know the feeling of fear and helplessness.…Continue

Private unaccredited religious education is really messed up. Two of the main reasons for sending ones children to such a school are 1. to isolate and indoctrinate, 2. to reform children who have been kicked out of public school. These go together well. When teaching their children how evil the outside world is they only have to point to the very troubled second group and say, "See them? That is how the world without God will make you". That is just from my experience and I do not have any…Continue

Clinicians are vulnerable too...
Beware of tendecy to see relationships that you expect to see or that are supported by striking examples readily available in your memory. Rely on your notes more than your memory. Recognize that hindsight is seductive: It can lead you to feel overconfident and sometimes to judge yourself too harshly for not having foreseen…

Today Romney made the arguement that classroom size does not matter. I am very interested in the average class size his children have sustained during their education. I believe this is another attack on education by the republicans to dismantle public school education in America.
Over the next few weeks I will focus on people who are making a difference for others. They are examples of…Continue

The University of California at Berkeley has chosen Google over Microsoft for its campus-wide email and calendar services, and it will tell you why — in great detail.
Google and Microsoft are locked in a battle for the hearts and minds of businesses, government agencies, and schools across the globe, each touting its own suite of business applications as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sometimes, Google wins, and sometimes Microsoft. But Berkeley’s choice is worth noting…Continue
