Growing up in a medical household certainly had its advantages as my brother, sisters and I had opportunities many kids never had chance to do. We were up to date, well educated and consciously modest because of those things. Yes, coming from that medical household also…Continue
Yeah, it’s unabashedly true. I’d take a roll in the hay with the infamous leader of the Communist world. The thought occurred to me during a rather bawdy discussion amongst friends about conservative types of people we’d consider sleeping with. And I gave it a very serious thought. Why the hell not think about it? Nothing wrong with that. And does it really…Continue
Some may think I'm stating that religion is junk food for the mind.
Well, not quite right.
I'm drawing from comments made by psychologists and neurologists whose work I've been studying.
Essentially it is the confirmation of a quote from Arthur C. Clarke:
"The greatest tragedy in mankind's entire history may be the hijacking of morality by religion."
Which, when the junk food phenomenon of…Continue
What Does Science Say?
In a famous letter to an American mother, world renowned psychiatrist Sigmund Freud, wrote in 1935: "Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is…Continue
I was on The Thinking Atheist last night. We really got into things like how to talk to your children about sex and the bogus notion of sex or porn addiction. If you or someone you know, believes in sex addiction, listen here. It is only a figment of the Christian imagination and their sex crazed guilt.…
I continue to chafe at some of the so-called intellectuals on Free Thought Blogs continually referring to atheism as a "movement" and associating it with all these other causes that actual nonbelievers have every right to care about or not. I happen to think that supporting equal rights with no preference given to either gender is a positive thing, and this is why I have a reservations about feminism. I happen to think that a progressive view of politics is the best way to move society…Continue

Malcolm Muggeridge, “Down with Sex” (1966)
”Is it not strange that desire should so many years outlive performance?”
William Shakespeare, 2 Henry IV (1597-8)
“The sex instinct is one of the three or four prime movers of all that we do and are and dream, both individually and collectively.”

Disclaimer: I'm a former Christian who is now an atheist. I have nothing against most theists and respect their beliefs - up to the point where they step on mine. However, even in my Christian days I would've been appalled by the hubris of this plan.Continue
When it comes to morals it seems that Christians never get above the belt-buckle unless it is to peer behind a brassiere. Genes for sexual obsession passed down from the Catholic Church evidently have not mutated over the centuries as Christian leaders remain overly concerned with who's doing who, how they are doing it and if there are any naked people or pictures anywhere near.
To be sure there is a need for watchdog organizations and laws keeping dangerous sexual predators, perverts…Continue
Again, from my other blog: www.integralmath.blogspot.com
I'd like to thank anonymous (not sure if it's "the" anonymous) for bringing to my attention a blog post I've somehow managed to either miss completely, or forget that I read. (Hey, drugs aren't great for the memory -mmkay?) At any rate, the events in question here happened during a TAM event. Now, I know that the Nanny Ophelia & crowd are going to read this and…Continue
