I just finished talking with my older sister Chris, whose childhood picture is just above. It took place just after the Green Bay…
They are new in the “feel good” style media line up lately. I was introduced to these once a month motivational segments while at work the other morning when one of our clerks went on her break, tuning in to the ever popular wine drinking duo of Kathy Lee and Hoda on the Today show. This…
I’m thinking of renaming the first essay “Cardinal Ratzinger and Chaos Theory” to
“The Story of the Moron and the Mouse”
Ever wonder why there’re no clergy listed on the National Sex Offender List? To my mind the first story gives a plausible explanation. It also tells how the cards are stacked against the poor and working class. In 1964, W. Bush was admitted to Yale with inferior grades as a “legacy student.” As you know, I’m not religious, but this…Continue

Well, my faithful reader no doubt remembers the story I told a few weeks ago about mom's struggle to corner the market on walnuts. Apparently this is a lifelong obsession as a small woman barely 5 feet tall in her old hometown looking for walnuts and walnut trees. When she moved into the big city she was able to continue her habit and even having a truck full of squirrels who had cleared out her pickup bed could not deter her.…Continue
This is an answer I gave to a friend who wrote to me, "sometimes, I just miss the crutches".
Of course you miss the experiences you had as a christian. There was community, music, probably some fun and games, Interesting stories, probably made interesting because they were myths. We all enjoy a good myth, especially if it involved murdering thy neighbor or bashing babies heads against the stone walls, or thrusting a sword through the bellies of babies or pregnant mothers.

Have you all checked out "Awkward Moments Children's Bible" yet? It's an Amazon award-winning book and concept. No, I don't own shares of this book or are related to it's creators but I really, really LOVE the whole concept asnd I often share the illustrations on my Facebook page. I'd like to see the author put the art+verse on the backs of T-shirts (large design so easily read) as I'd proudly wear that in public to get people to think - I'd even purposedly stand in lines and position myself…Continue

This is somethimg I thought would be interesting: Write a creation myth. It doesn't have to be the creation of this world it can be the creation of a fantasy world, alien world, etc. You can have one god, many gods or no gods.
Heres one for a story idea I had that would probably be allot better off as a game scrip.
In the beginning there was only void and from the void came Phoenix and Lóng. Phoenix and Lóng battled, from their battle came Air,…
