Protest song/video

Hello from Spain!
After 54 years as an atheist/musician, I've just finished a song+video protesting against the destruction of Earth's nature/environment from human greed, global warming, overpopulation and religion.

Enjoy and regards,

Ravaging the Planet for Our Own Amusement

Another A/N blogger, Richard Goscicki, has eloquently written on the connection between religion and the destruction of our planet.  Let us count the ways.

Time is wasted in religious ritual and obsessing over ancient texts.  Religious wars and terrorism carry on a constant slaughter of humans and destruction of resources.  Religious teachings – that contraception is wrong, that man is not descended from animals but is special, that we are meant to have total dominion over nature…all…

Facts Don't Matter Anymore

"facts are true whether you believe them or not" - Adam Savage (from the Reason Rally)

sadly, it is possible that Mr. Savage was wrong.  sure, on the face of it a statement like that is a no-brainer.  however, in today's world we are seeing a strange phenomena where facts are only as useful as a person wants them to be.  facts are now up for debate.  facts depend on the source from which you acquire them.  lastly, facts are no longer facts if someone chooses not to believe…

Global Warming - It's Not the End of the World

Anthropogenic Climate Change is real. Accept it. Humankind is pouring billions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year, that would not be there otherwise. Carbon dioxide traps heat. If you want to prove this for yourself, just conduct the following simple experiment. Take two clear plastic bottles and place a thermometer in each of them. In one, just close the cap, thereby filling the bottle with a sample of our regular old atmosphere. In the…

Conservatism's Bankrupt and Failed Ideology Must Be Stopped

I don't really want to stray into politics, but as the election draws near, please indulge me this once - at least until the next election season. I apologize for the ranty polemic.

Modern Conservatism is an utterly failed, worthless, bankrupt ideology whose policies have led to utter disaster and offers no solutions to any of the problems that confront the modern world. In place of solutions, modern conservatism has degenerated into an incohate mass of anger, rage,…

On climate change - a detractor.

I like to think that systems can be built to conserve the energy we're using. I'm not too certain about the debate about global warming/climate change. Below is an excerpt from icecap.us, an organization that has a more nuanced perspective. I notice that geologists are the most sceptical in the scientific community about climate change, which makes sense. They are working with a long view--4.5 billion years--of the Earth's history, as opposed to the meteorological view--60 years at… Continue
