Captain Spaulding, Chakras, and Ghost Hunts: A Skeptic's Weekend At A Horror Convention

If you can’t tell by my attached photo gallery, I absolutely love the horror and supernatural genres of entertainment. Alfred Hitchcock, Vincent Price, George Romero, Quentin Tarantino, Boris Karloff, and Peter Cushing? Cannot get enough. I love the macabre art inspired by all things dark and taboo. Little coffins decorated with favorite…

It's Either "One Nation Under God" Or Bite My Ass And Leave

Humanity can be so obstinate when it finds a cause to support. I deal with this stubborn natured characteristic all the time whenever I discuss politics, religion, or economics with the locals in my current home town. In particular, my next door neighbor Chuck epitomizes the title of this article in the very literal sense. Yes, this man has said to me…

Red Pill, Blue Pill, Green Pill, Fix You Up Cocktail

It was one of those little paper cups that one can put ketchup or tartar sauce in. A white little bowl of pressed edges and a crimped rim. Almost origami like. Just a shallow condiment cup that, at its bottom, held two impossibly small pills that held too many promises to believe.

Help me…

Do Your Best And God Will Do The Rest

For many, many years, I have always found an unending fount of devilish giggles whenever I read sappy church signs. You know, the ones that are thought up by the honorary witty member of the church congregation that plays on puns, abuses homophones, and loves to dabble in sappy poetry attempts. What better way to market a deity than…

My Sexual Life Story and How Atheism Has Improved My Sanity

Caution: Really not as interesting as it sounds.

This is pretty messy, long and raw. But I know you were all dying to know every bit of this.

So, as everyone who has ever spent five minutes with me is aware, I was raised Mormon. Mormonism isn't the cult some make it out to be, aside from the fundamentalists, but it's still pretty damn crazy.

After my childhood friend told me my facebook photo was wrong and porn, I was trying to figure out how a person can live… Continue

i've started a series on early church history on youtube

it's called "shady church history" and i base it on my background in classics and early medieval history.

i haven't used my youtube channel in this way before, so i'm not sure how it's gonna be received. (probably just ignored, as there are a lot of good videos made from atheist angles out there, lol.)

anyways, i have 2 episodes finished so far. the first is an introduction to the series, the second deals with lies propagated by the church and how one in particular led to… Continue

Help me make an atheist movie.

Your part in the making of a Tacoma movie

Dear Friends and Family,

On February 20th of this year I started writing a screenplay. I assigned myself as director, and asked my friend Sarah Mangum to help out in the production of filming the screen play. We formed Aroma…

A rant of my own...where would they stop? (abortion)

I keep hearing all these thumpers saying we should make abortion illegal. Their logic being, "It's taking a life, no different than a murdurer." My question is, how are they going to follow each person around and know if they terminated their pregnancies? Maybe they found a way to do it themselves. I never claimed to be the smartest person on earth, but I think making abortion illegal would be catastrophic. You would have young girls dying from back alley abortions. You would have all kinds of… Continue

Yes, they're out there. The question is not about whether they exist or not, but about *what they'd like for breakfast*. Preferably, of course, the answer should exclude words like `us` in favour of things like `marmelade` or `fried eggs on toast`.

If you had a pet alien, what would you feed it?
