Non-History on the History Channel

The History Channel is one of my favorites along with the Discovery Channel ect... but am I wrong in getting pissed off when I see programs like "In the footsteps of Jesus, The Way of the Cross" on the "History" channel? I understand that religion has played a large roll in shaping historical events, almost always in a negative way and usually resulting in the needless deaths of hundreds or thousands or in the case of the Holocaust, millions of people.
