How many odd questions can I come up with?

This one has been on my mind, off and on, for years.

If you could have any one technology, and all required support technology, from any Scifi universe what technology would you want?

Personally I would choose Star Treks replicators.

Another question.

So this time I would like to know:

If you could have any one question answered, what would that question be?

Personally I would want to know, Is there intelligent life elsewhere in the universe?

EDIT I think I need to rephrase the question. "If you could discover the answer to any one question, what would that question be?"

A question

Ok so I was watching this video and it got me thinking. What came to mind is this several questions the simplest of which is:

If we had the ability to travel to other stars would you want to?

Later a related question came to mind:

If it were announced that we were going to colonize another planet would you want to be one of the colonists or would you want to remain on… Continue

Yet another time travel question. (Last one I promise)

While writing my previous post I thought of yet another time travel question, that I have heard before in various forms and I'm sure most of you have too but here it is:

If you could go back and meet any historical figure/figures who would you want to meet?

As in the previous question history is not changed by your presence you just get to have a conversation with a historical… Continue

Another question about time travel.

So in my last post I asked what event you would change. In this one I ask:

If you could go back and observe any event/period in history what would you choose?

Now remember that in this one you can't change history only watch. Assume for the purposes of this question that you have a translation device that allows you to understand every language ever spoken, so you could go to ancient… Continue

A fun thought experiment.

I have a tendency to think about random things, almost all the time. Well this morning I thought of an interesting question, I'm not sure of the influences of others though I'm sure there are some.

If you could go back in time and change any one event what event would you change?

I feel it necessary to point out that changing an event may not have a significant effect on history. For example if I were to go back and prevent Columbus from making his voyage of… Continue

So glad I am currently forced to use Linux

First what makes me glad to be using Linux is that the distro I use, Ubuntu, has a multiple desktop environment feature which means I can move an open program window to a different desktop that is not visible without switching to that desktop. The reason this makes me glad is that I am not ready to tell my family that I am an atheist. This feature just helped me hide my atheism from my sister for the last hour.

The story, I was responding to a comment on a discussion I posted and my… Continue

Another game the mind plays

Earlier today I had an idea for a blog post, or maybe a discussion, but was unable to get on to atheist nexus to post it. Now that I can post I cannot remember what the idea was.

This is one of the worst feelings I can imagine, knowing you had a good idea but being unable to remember it long enough to record it. What do you think?

The mind plays weird games with us

Ok so this is my first blog post and I would very much appreciate any feedback on my writing you may have.

Since I acknowledged that I was an atheist, at least to myself, the mental filters that blocked out most religious remarks from family have been utterly demolished. What I mean is that before admitting my atheism I didn't notice very many remarks mentioning god, but now I notice at least one every day. For instance this morning my parents were watching TV and my mom sang the… Continue
