Micheal's Blog (9)

Africa is perhaps the most miserable place the world has ever known. This fact is all but ignored by the media in western Countries. Most of the governments here, although calling themselves promoters of democracies, are ruthless dictatorships, ruled by greed and callous disregard for human life and dignity. They are supported by religious institutions that desire a share in the power, and they are supported by the "Western World" because they can still exploit them for profit. That's Africa,… Continue

The other day I was reading an article written by a gay expert on the Christian religion. He said that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Well, of course, that's completely untrue. Jesus thoroughly condemned homosexuality in Leviticus and in various books in the New Testament.

But just about any expert of the Christian religion would respond by saying: "No, no, you don't understand the Holy Bible. Jesus was not featured in the Old Testament." Well, okay, not by that name,… Continue

Ugandans could do better without their pastors

To the old biblical Ten Commandments, our pastors could add this one: You shall not have carnal knowledge of a member of your own sex, or of a goat, or a cow or sheep in your flock, or from your neighbour’s flock, or any domestic or wild creature. It is an abomination.

In the first commandment, Moses (or his impersonators) wants the Abrahamic God to be the only supernatural being with power. So, as the edict says, you shall not worship other gods. It would be a bit like our… Continue

If you are truly democratic, protect gay people

There is no halfway house to democracy. Either one accepts that all people have a voice in the running of their country or one accepts some degree of tyranny.

Demonising homosexuals is a barrier to self-determination. It protects those in power and forces the rest of us to do the dirty work of totalitarianism.

Denouncing gay people is like abusing women, discriminating against some regions, expelling Asians or beating up Catholics. Men often see women as objects or… Continue

Shs12m wasted praising Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi!!!!

His Grace, the right Rev Henry Luke Orombi, 7th Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, is no doubt a most impressive human being with many achievements.

But the four-page supplement, which appeared in the Sunday Vision of March 8 2009, showed much that is wrong with the reality of Christian values in Uganda and with Africa’s “big man” culture in general.

The supplement celebrated Orombi’s fifth anniversary as Archbishop. Five is hardly a big number, so the first question is;… Continue

Warm Greetings to Everyone especailly my freinds on Atheistnexus.

Hi, welcome. For years,I have dragged my feet about starting a blog of my own. This has been because I wasn't able to make up my mind what the theme of my blog should be.

My interests are varied and my mind wanders all the time like a butterfly. I haven't found it easy to decide on what exactly I should be blogging about. But suddenly today I have had a brain wave.

Surely, I do not have to blog about anything in particular.I can blog about me,my biography and my wandering… Continue

Dark Stranger

I met someone today.I had just signed in at the government building where I was doing some business this morning. After subjecting myself to the obligatory scanning, probing and prodding that occurs each time one steps into any public building now days,I was ascending the stairs. Then I sensed that someone was staring from behind, you know, that feeling you get when someone is staring intently at you.

I instinctively turned around, just checking. And lo and behold, standing at… Continue

Why do some people feel so important?

It is amazing how important some people believe they are. Its almost as if they need to approve of everything I do with my life. Perhaps, even, I might soon need their permission before I can breathe air.

Nonsense! What is this life? A number of years and then its death and the grave for each and every one of us. Why do people feel so

important, when in a matter of years, every single one of them will be dead and turned to dust?

Why should I care what they think, or… Continue
