Another look at recent history around the world where religion and politics collided is proof the US should do more to promote the Separation of Church and State. This time I examine the Irish-English conflict.
He is actually suggesting the wall of separation of church and state should be demolished...(yes.. i know there is no actual reference to such.. but it IS implied)... He says "its not what we were founded on"
Oh really? REALLY? The same founders he says actually wanted this to be a religious nation.. are the same ones that drafted the Constitution which said:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of… Continue
They preach to their choirs about values to pander for votes... but when it comes to a matter of a necessity to life and well being... the Governors of Alabama, Florida and Georgia fall short of practicing such values. WoodyBass.com

n the last week, California has seen two violations of human rights. The first being the California Supreme Court upholding Prop 8, and the other in San Diego County where a families right to assemble for a bible study has been violated. (I know Im shocked I am defending them too.. but they have that right)
So here is my question... Which Constitution has the last say? A States Constitution? or the US Constitution?
Naturally I make my argument in my blog:… Continue
The ruling by the California Supreme Court on Proposition 8 goes against everything this country stands for. The fact that this even came up for a vote just proves we still have a lot to learn. WoodyBass.com

"There has been quite a lot of discussion lately about President Obama’s visit to Notre Dame where he will be giving the commencement speech and will be the recipient of an honorary law degree. This has caused a stir amongst many Catholics because their Pro-Life stance directly conflicts with the Presidents Pro-Choice position on abortion." ~ more at WoodyBass.com.
So.. I decided to take a lil break from my usual smart ass remarks and political banter to cause some real trouble! :)
I bring this up because I saw the latest installment of Star Trek yesterday, and aside from a few problems I had with it (that I wont mention here for those who havent seen it yet)... I think the movie was mostly pretty brilliant.
I have officially seen every Star Trek movie.. and every Star Wars movie.
I am sick and damn tired of hearing about Miss California and Perez Hilton.
No one cared or even heard about either of them before Miss USA. Why do we care now?
Prejean has a right to voice her opinion and hopefully she realizes she has to accept ANY consequences of them. Then she posed topless.. and now she's trying to say that a choice SHE made is a malicious attack for voicing her opinion. You screwed up you dumb broad.
I have known a few couples where one is an atheist and (in most cases) the other a christian. None have lasted. I myself was in a relationship with someone that was raised to be an evangelical christian (apparently there are flavors) from Kansas. That relationship didn't work out. In fact, one of the reasons that was used to break up with me was... my views on religion and the church. That relationship coming to an end was probably best anyway.
"The Kentucky Derby, one of three stages of the Triple Crown, is an annual tradition of extreme grace, revelry and triumph. While I would love to be there live and in person placing bets on the winning horse tomorrow, the only enjoyment and entertainment value I will get out of the race will be to watch it in High Definition on my flat screen TV."
