The presidential election is here and I am going to do the same thing I did before, vote for myself. I think there would be an extreme case in which I vote for someone else. Does this sound selfish, I don't mean it to be selfish it just feels right to me. I do not expect to win nor do I really want the job. I do it because I know that there will not be a legitamite candidate and I want to continue practicing my voting rights in respect for all of our civil rights. I can't see voting… Continue

The population is growing fast and we all need energy. Are you an energy conscious person? Since we are all believers in truth, reality and scientific methods what is your belief in energy?

I wonder sometimes what I look like to others. I especially wonder what I look like to others after it is known that I am an atheist (nontheist); to me atheist and nontheist is the same thing.
Has my posture changed, do I look stronger or weaker? Of course this question can never be answered because everyone has their own opinion. As long as one walks with the idea of "be kind to yourself and be kind to others" you might have a goal for life. I guess self… Continue

On NBC Meet the Press Senator Linsey Grahm was using the title "Entitlement Plan" in place of saying "Social Security". What are your thoughts of this?

Will this law be changed soon? If it does what do you predict it will change in the way people vote on other issues?

One of the new buzz words in education these days is "Bully". It comes from the newest phase of using the internet to harrass or defame individuals and cause harm or even death. Do you tolerate hearing a new buzz word and react as if it is truly new?
How often can you listen to the same story over and over and over again and pretend you learned something each time? Revisiting old problems can certaintly warrant discussion, I just don't want to reinvent the wheel each time. I… Continue

I am going to my mother's house, hunt turkey and deer, have dinner with about ten other people, drink and watch dvd's. I can't say it will be anything new but I am glad that I will have a few extra days off to relax and play some. I hope all of you will also have a great week.

Here is the enigma I am going through at the moment. There may or may not be civil rights for you. If there is civil rights the government recognizes you deserve protection by the laws of its nation. If there is not laws made for your civil rights where you live then you don't live in a government that offers you protection. Even if there is laws made for your civil rights there are many examples of pain or death inflicted on people because of who you are or what you believe. How much tax money… Continue

Imagine if you bought a dome home to live in becuase you thought it would be the most efficient way for you to afford a home that would last a long time and use the least amount of energy. Now imagine what the neighbors would say in this republican country of ours. Even more practical in thought would you be able to have a resale value if you needed to sell it? Once you start changing the design to fit the more traditional look you have just defeated your purpose of low cost. So is the dome… Continue

So today I voted but I have to go through a church to do it. Don't you think we deserve a place that is secular to vote at?

We all need to stay healthy to continue living so what should we do? Our basic knowlege of health is to eat properly, exercize regularly, and What? Well the what is our minds, mental health. We need to keep healthy minds. I bet your thinking sex, right? Well that is part of our minds but it is not all of it. How do we pay for it? The financial part of taking care of our body and mind is another part of it. So, as a civilized nation what do we do for ourselves and what do we do for our nation?… Continue

I would like to know if you feel a greater sense urgency having children in an environment of those who don't except atheism? Did you decide after having children or before having children to live in a place like a city that may prove less provocation from the religious speakers? Maybe you decided to move to a more open minded state. What is your hopes, fears and challenges?

The word prejudice keeps popping up in my mind. At first the word itself has very negative connotation associated with treating people unfairly. How does it apply to atheist being prejudice to its nonbelief over believers? Is it appropriate to call ourselves prejudice in our views? Here is a definition for prejudice :

I am an atheist teacher in America. Our school held a teacher training work day at a local church that was mandatory. I don't know if the school paid the church money to have the meeting there or not. The training speaker told at least one joke that pertained to Jesus humor that only theist would laugh at. There were two very large church posters on stage for all to see about how to be a good christian. There was much chatter about church topics by those who attend this church. How would you… Continue

In this site there is two men for every woman Atheist Nexus member. Why comment on this? Because it seems that no one really believes me when I say there is not a lot of women out there who are atheist to date. Lets say there is ten percent of the population who is actually atheist, what part of them are actually a woman? How many of those are available? How many of those are actually interested in a relationship? I'm just saying, am I right or am I wrong?

I am wondering if any of you parents out there have searched for a school that was secular. The thought is if your child or family was bullied to a point of fear, where do you go and what do you do? There are many schools in america that have a majority of religious inhabitants. Is there enough money in an atheist community to actually support such a school? Would it be just as dangerous to start one, subject to becoming a larger target in the community? I am not a parent so I have not had… Continue
