Some may think I'm stating that religion is junk food for the mind.
Well, not quite right.
I'm drawing from comments made by psychologists and neurologists whose work I've been studying.
Essentially it is the confirmation of a quote from Arthur C. Clarke:
"The greatest tragedy in mankind's entire history may be the hijacking of morality by religion."
Which, when the junk food phenomenon of…Continue
I'm in discussions with Theists who are in constant denial of Science that goes anywhere near not supporting their Faith.
They claim to understand science and the findings of scientists, accept health warnings and findings in Cosmology and Geology, but only up to where the sciences don't interfere with their faith.
Once there is conflict with faith, they completely deny and deride scientific findings.
Now we know that Genesis and the…Continue
I have been viewing this series of lectures and the information has been not only Extremely Interesting, but overwhelmingly useful in my understanding psychology of both Animals and Humans.
I recommend these to anybody who has the time to view them.
Or they can pick just the subject in which they are most interested.
Such as I didn't realize that a species of birds has Theory of Mind.
I've known for years that apes have this ability.

During our early childhood years as young Atheists (Implicit Atheism, no knowledge nor care about Gods) most of us had an overwhelming wonderment for absolutely everything, I spent my childhood examining everything I could find and wondered how it all worked and was related to myself, if given a present involving technology, within two days it would be in pieces as I investigated what made it move or make noises, blow air, etc....
This wonderment followed me into my early teens and…Continue
As PZ Myers mentions, Young Earth Creationists absolutely hate being reminded that their World-View is only Seventh Day Adventist propaganda, which originated from their leader's brain damage Hallucinations.Continue
A friend of mine who enjoys trolling websites posted a comment back in 2012 on the Creationist Haven called BeginningAndEnd.com.
I allowed him to use my Account and Alias on this site, because I had stopped trolling it myself as I considered such site full of complete Idiots as a waste of time, since they either don't reply for weeks or they simply scrub the posts if they find them too alarming.
This site (Beginningandend.com) supports Creationism, Illuminati…Continue
Political Correctness has become a Religion for Naive Fools and Idiotic Politicians to Follow.
I have just read a News Release that they are now starting an entire Psychological Study in order to understand why Youth who were raised in dysfunctional, sometimes violent, parental or guardian environments appear to be more resilient when it comes to dealing with hardship and depression.
Those children brought up in…Continue
I have started an interesting debate on debate.org concerning The place of Theism in human Cultural Evolution>
I'm having a lot of fun with this one, though I would like a little support and ideas from the great resource of Intelligent people we are assembling…Continue
The development of complex languages, around 200,000 years ago, that can describe and pass on abstract thinking (like religious thought) has been likely the biggest force behind our cultural evolution, which has taken off exponentially since the first sentences were formed.
This use of language to describe complex and abstract notions sparked our cultural or cognitive evolution which recording in writing and now vocal/video/software has pushed along this exponential growth curve,…Continue

It appears highly probable that the teachings of Buddha, in the form of Greco-Buddhism which was picked up and spread by Hellenistic groups associated with Alexander The Great around 300BC assisted in spreading many of the Buddhist philosophies throughout the Hellenistic world of which the so called birthplace of Jesus Christ was included. So it was extremely probable that Jesus (if he existed) had knowledge of such Buddhist philosophies. Something Christians had wrongly denied by…Continue
It was a very sad time for me when I heard the news about the death of Frank Zappa in 1993 from cancer.
His sarcastic humor and incredible musical ability with a completely non-commercial outlook on the entire music industry gave me some of my outlook on life and skepticism.
He was always skeptical of everything and shunned commercialism.
Frank Zappa epitomized the Social and political Skepticism…Continue
I still cannot get over the interview between Richard Dawkins and Wendy Wright, published around Xmas time 2012, such stupidity and Irrationality displayed by Wendy rings sadly in my ears, I felt totally dismayed that any person leading a lobby group could be that STUPID.
I've witnessed such arrogant stupidity from general, poorly educated citizens who held basic desk and clerical jobs, many never having met nor studied science in their lives.
Every time I hear…Continue
It is a fact that nobody knows what the original scribes who authored the Bible were really thinking.
As with all written documents concerning people and times, meanings of words, their emphasis and context change with time. This is only considering the original texts.
Then there are the translations and editorship of these texts, which add, subtract and distort the original texts.
Such translations occurred to the old testament in in the 200 years BC and…Continue

Catholics and some Protestant Christian groups still quote and stand by the writings of these two , who were once considered wise men, but forget that in worldly knowledge and rationality, they can be beaten now by the average intelligent ten year old, in both knowledge and wisdom.
For Thomas Aquinas:Continue
Some Neurologists Jokingly consider Free Will as Free Won't.
Because of how they now believe Consciousness works.
"The prefrontal cortex is the latest structure to appear in the evolution of the brain, and is the structure that shows the greatest development between humans and our closest biological relatives. Furthermore, it is known to mediate a great deal of the abilities considered distinctly human, such as planning, reflection, and empathy, all of which…Continue
In the current era: Intelligence Quotient or IQ is no longer considered as a measure of Intelligence.
IQ is hereditary and an Indoctrinated high IQ individual religious devotee, can be just as hooked and Irrational as any normal to low IQ devotee.
The difference is that high IQ devotees can be more clever in creating their Apologies (Porkies) for their belief system. Thomas Aquinas is an excellent example here, very high IQ, very indoctrinated into…Continue
