ever since i saw that "march of the penguins" movie, i've wanted to try a penguin.
they looks so fatty and juicy...
i love fish that live in cold water. and i love chicken.
if you think about it, a penguin is like a cold water chicken.
most of my atheist friends say, that's disgusting! you shouldn't eat a penguin.
but my christian friends say that god gave humans dominion over all the plants and animals.
should i convert to… Continue

i'm an audio engineer, so when i see people in small american towns freaking about about i-dosing, i half crack up in disbelief and half wanna kick the people saying this stuff...

does it get you high?
that depends on your… Continue

i was just watching this video on youtube, "the hidden jesus" where a christian theologian explores other religions with stories similar to the jesus story.
what got my attention was in part six where he makes the claim that "for the last 2000 years christianity and judaism have been at war over jesus. why? because of what some consider christianity's biggest lie."…

this british dude looks at other religions with similarities to christianity.
buddhism, hinduism and of course mithraism...
viewable via 11 parts on youtube...
one heads up...
the host, a theologian named dr. robert beckford, is pretty liberal christian. so liberal, in fact, that he seems to think that all the religions he investigates in this show… Continue

not sure anyone is interested in this or not, but i stumbled across a multi-episode documentary from canada on the inquisition. it's kinda low budget, but still interesting.
the first episode is a little slow, but episode 2 and 3 are good.
it really gets me pissed off at points... torturing and killing people for nothing.
and occasionally there is a catholic priest who makes some comment like "well, we have to take these things in context of the society at that… Continue

it's called "shady church history" and i base it on my background in classics and early medieval history.
i haven't used my youtube channel in this way before, so i'm not sure how it's gonna be received. (probably just ignored, as there are a lot of good videos made from atheist angles out there, lol.)
anyways, i have 2 episodes finished so far. the first is an introduction to the series, the second deals with lies propagated by the church and how one in particular led to… Continue

i just about spat my drink out onto my computer monitor when i saw this one...
apparently, good little christian boys and girls get soooo turned on by an innocent hug that in order to avoid temptation they invented....
THE CHRISTIAN SIDE-HUG!!!!!!!
this is fractally laughable on so many levels!!!

here is a 12 part interview with theoretical physicist Michio Kaku.
they are promoting his book and discuss a range of topics from galactic civilizations, teleportation, the big bang, string theory, the mind vs. computers, and tons of other fun, mind blowing stuff.
it's quite long, but really entertaining and well worth the listen.…

i found this site thru google reader's default "atheism" setting.
(which i highly recommend)
i've spent the last 3 days plundering the seemingly endless links in here.
there is a lot of........... no, make that, 90% of the site is dedicated to trudging thru the roots of early christianity and the establishment and fortification of the catholic and othodox churches and their "heretical" siblings. it touches on the roots of islam at points too.
as a classical… Continue

i saw an interesting article in the times this morning. i guess there is a rise in "moderate islamic" televangelists and it has a "strong appeal for the youth”
while the mainstream american media probably thinks this is a great alternative to the radical fundamentalist… Continue

this popped up as recommended viewing on youtube.
it's title was "if you want to stay an atheist, don't watch this."
oh. how provocative. christian propaganda for other christians.
some joke of a video on youtube will make me "see the light."
i guess i was bored, so i actually clicked the link. from the first 10 seconds i was already cringing. it's like a bad train wreck, you have to keep looking but you know you shouldn't.
it's so sad, not only… Continue

a little background on me first.
i was raised in a liberal catholic family in the american midwest. about junior high i decided all that stuff was a crock of shit and my parents were kinda like, we believe but.... yeah, not literally. so they let me and my younger brother decide for ourselves. creationism was something that as a family was completely ridiculed.
so i had no interest in hearing anything about creationism or "intelligent design." until the other day when i was just… Continue
