I just applied to Coker College to enroll in either their english education(9-12) or biology education(9-12) programs. Its been a few years since college but I think this will be interesting and… Continue

Geert Wilders, a parliament member in the dutch government, is now being prosecuted for speaking out against the fascist ideology of the Koran. It is now illegal to speak negatively about islam which shows how close islam is coming to their goal of world domination. This is particularly scary to me. Islam is a violent, bigoted, damning religion. Islam, I believe, is the most dangerous threat to freedom and the planet. The time to be tolerant is over.
So I was having a tactful debate on a website with creationists and it was very orderly but just like any debate with creationist was like talking to a wall. I quoted Carl Sagan and this douchebag (I don't have a better word for him) retorted "If you could talk to Carl now he would tell you what the Christians tell you, repent and turn to Jesus because there is a Hell!" verbatim. I could only reply "oh really? well that is one of the most disrespectful things I have heard in a long time." Carl… Continue
So after a year living in Northern California, by San Francisco, I have decided to move back home. I grew up in NC for 22 years and after a big mistake I needed to move away from the east coast for a while. Hopefully that is resolved so I am moving back east in a month or so. My mom moved to SC so I decided to move there. I have a brother with Down Syndrome so I am gonna move him in with me hopefully so we can have fun. My other brother has type 1 diebetes but has played in the world series of… Continue
So I just returned from a very long and eventful walk. Eventful in the sense that I spent the time thinking.
I have an idea that might work and I would like to put it through an experiment but I need your help. Read the whole hypothesis and tell me your ideas.
I think that atheists are taking the wrong approach to making theists think. Telling them they are blatantly wrong doesn't change anything and it makes them quite unresponsive even if you make a good… Continue
Do you remember the old tv series "Dinosaurs" with Earl, Robbie, Fran, Charlene, and Baby. Remember "gotta love me, I'm the baby", "AGAIN!", "Not the mama!"? I have all 4 seasons on dvd and there is a wonderful episode called "The Greatest Story Ever Sold" which talks about abandoning science to blinding follow a religion. I highly recommend watching it.
Here is the excerpt from wikipedia on the episode.
In the final season, "The Greatest Story Ever Sold" (a take off of… Continue
I am an atheist.. If you didn;t know by now you have been absent, or you're stupid (This is an atheist site). Many people believe that all atheist are moraless, hedonistic, alcoholic, junkies. Well I am none of those. I have very firm morals, I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I have never done any drugs (apart from prescriptions smartass). I don't even hang around people that do that stuff ofter. George Carlin put it best: " I don't have time for other people's stupid bullshit." That stands… Continue
Atheism is often considered another religion. When filling out profile information on website atheism is stated as a religion rather than the choice 'none'. When people ask an atheist his/her religion his/her answer is "I'm an atheist". When one asks a christian his/her religion his/her answer is "I'm a christian".
I believe that atheism seems like a religion to ignorant people because the word 'atheist' is used in that context. Many people believe that an atheist just hasn't found… Continue
I believe there are two primary groups of atheists.
The first being the group who lives in harmony with religion; believing that all religions can tolerate one another and exist together. I also believe the 'closet-atheists' fit into this group.
Next is the group I fit into; the group who believe that religion is incompatible with human life and causes more problems than it solves. I personally believe that religions put up a wall for the advancment of human-kind. Even… Continue
Now by the title I know what many of you are thinking. The difference in beliefs of the religious and evolutionists. Well not tonight. I have had my rant tonight so I'm going to convey what I believe and has evidence to substantiate this claim.
I personally believe that religion is a human evolutionary trait. If one believes in natural selection and survival of the fittest then we can move on from there. Well lets first consider the human mind. The human mind is so complex even in… Continue
I'm not 100% sure how to start this so I am just going to say that my father died from a motorcycle crash July 29, 1997; two days before my 12th birthday. He was not religious; I suppose I'd describe him as agnostic. He wasn't concerned with the afterlife but moreso with the now; his children in general. He was an absolute great father.
The first thing I want to say is that it irritates me when people say "I'm sorry" because that's not the emotion they feel. They usually have no… Continue
The atrocity going on in the Gaza Strip is a prime example of the poison of religion. The death toll is now over 600 including civilians. This is all because of a disagreement of religion. They want this 'sacred' plot of land. We're talking about the massacre of children in a UN school and blatant disregard for 'collateral damage'. People are losing their homes, families and lives over this trivial medieval idea of god. I know its asking a lot but it would be nice for these blind, brainless… Continue
I've lived the last year in San Francisco CA and am about to move back to SC. I encountered the same argument for the bible here that i have in every country I've been in. "Because the bible says so". That's not an argument considering the bible is NOT a historic record. For the majority the gospels written about Jesus were written 100-200 years after he died. That is not a historic record. It is as much of a record as Of Mice and Men. Studying actual historc documents there is no… Continue
