I think I burned my LB media

I forgot to take the LB media from the autoclave last night. When I arrived today it was dark amber and each flask had lost ~100mL to evaporation. Is my media burnt and has to be discarded, or can I reconstitute it adding autoclaved water?

Please ask around to see if anyone knows some way to help, and give all information to the people over there. Or here and I'll post… Continue

Cheesus found!!

You lucky folks from Missouri, the power of Cheesus is in your state! Just look at him

The lab pixies strike again

My protein, a dark, evil mistress from hell, refused to fold on command like her nicely behaving homologous sister. A year into assaying folding and buffer conditions with only slight improvement, I went the mutagenesis route.

After doing all sort of skippy victory dances when I finally got my mutant, I transformed some nice bacteria, grew them and burst them. So I'm, at last, folding the protein again. I expect no problems, I tried folding some of my incomplete mutant and it… Continue
