Print this on gummed labels and stick into bibles everywhere because believers like to know their bible better.

Those who claim that the bible is the word of god and therefore the truth can hardly complain.

Here is a suggestion from Malcolm Hutton: National Secular Society Newsletter, 9 January 2009

"One could take action when a bible is presented in hotel or hospital. First of all go prepared with a yellow highlight pen and ask if the bible is yours to keep. Then highlight some of the most damaging verses, such as –

Luke 14:26 – hate your mother and father
Matthew 10:34/36 – he came not for peace but with a sword
Psalm 137:9 – it will make you happy to dash your little ones against a stone
Leviticus 26:29 – eat the flesh of your sons and daughters
Proverbs 28:25 – if you trust the Lord you will put on weight
Matthew 23:9 – don't call a priest, father
Deuteronomy 19:18/19 – Kill anyone who tells a lie
Exodus 35:2 – Kill anyone who works on Sunday
Leviticus 20:27 – Kill all mediums by stoning
Deuteronomy 21:18/21 – Kill a rebellious son by stoning
Leviticus 24:14/16 – Kill anyone who utters a curse by stoning."

Thousands more could be added to this list.

Spot on, Eli.
You have homed in to the weakest point of the godbots.
The prayers and grovelling-to-gods that so debase faith-supporting humans have never led to any of the wonders like those found through science.

Show me one good thing done by religion that could not be accomplished by a secular group.

Now show me a good thing done by science that could have been accomplished through other means.

"but to poison all generations for the forseeable future"

I'm a bit curious as what you mean by this? Environmental pollution? Bioengineered germs? Damage from radiation? Chemical Poisoning?

While "Science" may have supplied the means it is irresponsible application that may be poisoning future generations.

of course science has also provided means to save entire generations, cures for polio, malaria, the eradication of smallpox, antibiotics, higher yield crops which feed much more people...

Science itself is neutral and I have a knee-jerk reaction to folks who say "Science" has done... sceince doesn't "do" anything, science "is done" it is a method for extracting information from our surroundings. Now whether some of this information is better left unknown is a question of philosophy.

I just can't understand how they believe things that are so OBVIOUSLY fairy tales and fables! I really boggles my mind. I mean, are they really so deluded that they believe the Noha's Ark story? Or that despite no evidence to support it that the Egyptians enslaved them for 400 years? I could go on of course, but whenever I view believers, I feel as if I'm look at adults the believe in Santa or the Tooth Fairy....

Yes, 'believers' will go on believing because their minds are already made up.

Our best hope, because we are friends of humankind, is to save those with an inkling of doubt from doubting any longer.

If we can be said to have a mission, it is to spare those who ask questions about faiths from deluding themselves any more.

They say that whatever god does is right and whatever he says is good is good. And yet they say that abortion is always murder even though god never mentioned it.

It's not going to work. The believers will argue that all the people listed (Even the egyptian kids) simply deserved it. God knows better, right?
