Today was a great day. Osama has just been pronounced dead! The man who killed many innocent 9/11 victims has come to justice. This is a great thing all Americans can be happy about, while also sad by remembering the victims. HOW CAN THIS GO WRONG? the answer is simple prejudice agents atheists. Obama wrote a speech about the capture of Osama. "I hate Obama but at least he is speaking on a positive subject." So i listened to the speech online. Obama said "No matter what god you believe in" when addressing America and the people. I think we can all see a flaw in this statement. What about atheists and agnostics? Would it kill Obama to say "No matter what god you believe in or if you don’t believe in a god or not sure." Is Obama trying to say that we only have freedom of religion but not freedom from religion? Or is he leaving us out and saying we are not considered part of America and should not feel pride for this victory agents terrorism? This is not the only time Obama ignores atheists in his speech he also says "on nation under god" and at the end of his speech "god bless America" This speech that had nothing to do with god had a ton of religious references in it! This is unconstitutional. Despite the separation of church and state that law is ignored, not only in this but in the many cases to take "one nation under god" out of the pledge of allegiance also leaving out atheists i remember when i just became an atheist and all my friends were saying the pledge and i left out the "under god" part. I felt left out and i fell insulted by this speech!

While I agree with your anger towards the "under God" change to the pledge of allegiance, I don't necessarily agree with you about Obama.

Whether we like it or not, "under God" is in the pledge of allegiance and he has a right to quote it, and he also has a right to say "God bless America" if he wants to. It is disappointing that he didn't give a shout out to atheists, but he has in the past. And that's more than most presidents can say.

The bottom line is that Christians have a major influence over politics and they have decided that they will stand against politicians who have anything to do with atheism. Until the attitude of the people changes, it's unlikely that we'll see a president stand up for us.

Everything always starts with the people.

WHERE is it written that if you don't like religion, you're somehow disqualified as a legitimate American?........ The word American does NOT mean "you must believe in god."   Living in America has nothing to do with what you believe or don't believe, as far as religion is concerned.

And yes, it pisses me off when people pray before a sports game. What are they praying for? god's protection? if he's so wonderful, why would he ALLOW them to get hurt in the first place??!! god, xians are sooooooooooo  f**king stupid!!!!
